AbstractIn this research, initial production and characterization of a novel Brønsted-acidic ionic liquid, namely,N,N,N′,N′-tetramethylethylenediaminium-N,N′-disulfonic acid hydrogen sulfate ([TMEDSA][HSO4]2), has been described (characterization was achieved using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy,1H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR),13C NMR, and mass and thermal gravimetric spectra). Thereafter, utilization of [TMEDSA][HSO4]2as a highly effectual catalyst for the synthesis of 4,4′-(arylmethylene)-bis(3-methyl-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-5-ol) derivatives through the one-pot pseudo five-component reaction of phenylhydrazine (2 eq.) with ethyl acetoacetate (2 eq.) and arylaldehydes (1 eq.) in relatively mild conditions, has been reported.

The facile synthesis of two new Ionic electroconductive polyurethanes with the framework of ionic liquids, i.e., PUR-T: synthesized with isocyanate TDI; PUR-H: synthesized with isocyanate HDL, are described. Their structures and properties were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and the surface resistance meter. The effects of the different kinds of isocyanate on electrical conductivity of PUR were also investigated. It was found that their electrical conductivity can be optimized by changing the reaction temperature. The PUR-H, which exhibits an electrical conductivity of 1.0×104 Ω surface resistance, could be obtained in high yield, up to 65% at 90 oC for 12h.

Abstract Published x-ray data from crystalline selenium and tellurium and from stretched sulfur (amorphous), polyethylene, polyisobutylene, polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinyl chloride, polyvinylidene chloride, polyoxymethylene, polyoxyethylene, polyethylene disulfide, polyethylene tetrasulfide, and polyphosphonitrile chloride are compared. In most cases the experimental identity-distance in the direction of the chain axes and the expected interatomic distances and interbond angles are found to be in agreement with the assumption that the chain atoms form a regular spiral, unidirectional in each chain and of uniform pitch. Apparent exceptions are briefly discussed.

Great attention has been paid to membrane-based separation technology in various separation fields, including gas separation. It provides the benefits of energy efficiency, environmental friendliness, easy scale-up, and convenience in operation. Different division advancements are being utilized for the expulsion of acid gas carbon dioxide (CO2). The aim of this work is to synthesis the membrane using polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) with treatment (WT) and without treatment (WOT) of the additive that is triethanolamine (TEA), to study the effect of additive on the permeance of membrane towards CO2 and the morphology changes of each membrane. In this research, virgin PVA and PVA with TEA were cast upon the porous support membrane of polyvinyl chloride (PVC). PVA was used as the polymer matrix, and TEA was used as a CO2 facilitating agent. Distilled water was used as a solvent for TEA and PVA in preparing the solution. Dimethyl acetamide (DMAc) and Tetrahydrofuran (THF) were used as solvents for PVC porous membranes. These membranes were tested on CO2 to find out the permeability and flux rates (J). For the morphology of the membrane, we performed SEM; for thermal analysis, we performed DSC and TGA, and for the strength, we performed the tensile test. The results reveal that the presence of TEA changes the morphology and thermal behavior increases the strength and the permeability of CO2. In a nutshell, the presence of TEA enhanced the performance and the morphology of the membrane.
