Polyaniline (PANI) composite have generated great interest in the catalyst field due to the coordinate properties of their component. Herein, PANI-PMo12 composite microspheres were successfully fabricated via a facial oxypolymerization with hydrogen peroxide as oxidant and phosphomolybdic acid (PMo12) as dopant. The PANI-PMo12 microspheres were characterized by SEM, XRD, FTIR and XPS. The concentration of PMo12 had a major effect on the diameter of microsphere. The solvent ethanol also played a critical role in the formation of microspheres. The formation mechanism of the PANI-PMo12 microspheres was proposed. Further, the composite microspheres could be directly used as catalyst and displayed a high conversion and selectivity in the epoxidation of cis-cyclooctene with aqueous H2O2 as an oxidant.

Oxidative desulfurization of gasoline was conducted in emulsion oxidative system (water –in-oil [W/O]) using hydrogen peroxide as the oxidizing agent, N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) and water as extractive solvent, span60 as surfactant. Phosphomolybdic acid / activated semi-coke (30 wt%)were prepared by impregnation. These catalysts were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM). The effect of amount of catalysts, on the efficiency of desulfurization was investigated. Under this operation condition, the sulfur level of the desulfurized gasoline can be lowered from 550 ppm to below 80 ppm after oxidation and extraction. In addition, the gasoline after oxidation and extraction were analyzed by GC-FPD for sulfur content.

The catalytic oxidation of cyclohexane to cyclohexanone and cyclohexanol using hydrogen peroxide over phosphomolybdic acid were studied. Factors such as the amount of catalyst, amount of the oxidant (H2O2), reaction temperature and reaction time were investigated. The conversion of cyclohexane was 35.35%, the total selectivity to cyclohexanone and cyclohexanol was 97.68% at a reaction temperature of 70 °C, reaction time of 8 h, 10 mL of acetone, 0.01 g of phosphomolybdic acid and 0.5 mL of hydrogen peroxide.
