Abstract This review explores spontaneous mimicry in the context of three questions. The first question concerns the role of spontaneous mimicry in processing conceptual information. The second question concerns the debate whether spontaneous mimicry is driven by simple associative processes or reflects higher-order processes such as goals, intentions, and social context. The third question addresses the implications of these debates for understanding atypical individuals and states. We review relevant literature and argue for a dynamic, context-sensitive role of spontaneous mimicry in social cognition and behavior. We highlight how the modulation of mimicry is often adaptive but also point out some cases of maladaptive modulations that impair an individuals’ engagement in social life.

Data explosion, in the present era, has created a lot of changes in the social, economic and cultural relationships of all developed societies. Modern areas usually do not have the required legitimacy; however it does not mean that the way for all kinds of violation is open. Social life requires that order and security also govern these areas and protect ethics and public interests. Electronic commerce law is one of these areas a debatable area filled with innovations and surprises. In this regard, waves of internet revolution and the explosion of e-commerce collide with the legal system and influence the concepts of traditional law. One of the key achievements of information technology is changes in traditional regime of evidence claim. In the system of evidence claim in the majority of countries, written reasons and documents are of undeniable importance, in a way that they are mostly used as citation or to defend the Lawsuit. In fact, a lawsuit and adducing the evidence in our legal life largely depend on delivering or issuance of a written paper such as ID cards, pay stubs, payment receipts, contracts, declarations, warnings, statements, and or commercial documents.

In the scriptural analyses presented in earlier chapters, there were many references to the emotions of Jesus, his disciples, and other characters. It will be clear by the end of this chapter that emotions play an important role in Christian and un-Christian behavior. The first section explains what emotions are and why humans have them. The second section catalogs the emotions expressed by characters in the four Gospels. It is interesting to see how the emotions expressed by Jesus were different than those expressed by other characters and also what prompted emotional reactions in Jesus. The third section generalizes the role of emotions in Christian behavior beyond the cataloging of the second section. This chapter is crucial for understanding motivations to engage in certain kinds of Christian behaviors that will help solve major problems in the world.

This concluding chapter presents a program for a more ‘contextual’ approach to the application of psychology to arbitration than has been adopted within arbitration scholarship thus far. It specifically examines the area of Contextual Behavioral Science (CBS), which focuses on the ‘act in context’, treating behaviour as inseparable from the circumstances that surround it. Such a context-sensitive approach allows new light to be shed on the psychology of arbitration, while also unifying the existing literature within a new epistemic framework that offers the advantage of not only predicting but also of potentially influencing the behaviour of interest in arbitration. While psychology can be applied to arbitration in many ways, the chapter focuses on arbitrator reasoning. It addresses the professional context of arbitration, scrutinizing how individual conceptions of the role of the arbitrator can influence reasoning. The chapter also considers the social context of arbitration, analysing the relations between the hierarchical character of the arbitration community and the existence of cognitive biases.

This study aims at describing the text analysis, social cognition, social context, and ideology of sindo newspaper of  Wednesday December 11th 2013 edition.. This study uses Critical Discourse Analysis method  with  a Teun A Van Dijk  approach model.  The data were in the form of news entitled “Putusan Luthfi Hasan Diharapkan Jadi Efek Jera”. The data were analyzed with integrating the third dimension of Teun A Van Djik Discoure model in the unity analysis, they were text, social cognition, and social context. The results found that the Sindo Newspaper supported the work of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the presiding judge of Corruption Court (Tipikor). The news in the edition of Wednesday, December 11th, 2013 “the  ideology of Sindo Newspaper practically used  to build the image of KPK and TIPIKOR to be more better in the society.

The seventh chapter argues for the importance of the social context in continuing to influence whether social cognition is engaged or not, and describes a version of the delayed sudden death virus outbreak thought experiment without the death and virus components, set in modern society. This chapter then reviews classical social psychological studies that illustrate the power of the social context in shaping social cognition and resulting behaviour. It describes different types of social contexts, and explores the role of consistency motives in guiding human behaviour. Finally, it makes an appeal for a spectrum metaphor for social behavior, rather than alternative metaphors that categorise the phenomenon too narrowly.

The 2017 Musrenbang Kabupaten was led by a vice Bupati. Because of the health condition, Bupati of Sampang cannot be present and leading the forum. The vice Bupati must show his leadership model as if he is the main leader. The success of Musrenbang forum depends on how a Bupati can manage, cooperate and lead all the participants in this forum. This study is to analyze the leadership discourse from 2017 Musrenbang Kabupten Speech Text and relevant literature. The methodology in this study is using discourse analysis. Then, it is led to Van Dijk Model Analysis. This model concerns on three part analyses. They are textual, social cognition and social context analyses. While textual analysis is based on the speech text, social cognition and context analyses are based on the external and what is behind of a discourse. Then, the result of this study is led to what kind of leadership model is showed by Vice Bupati of Sampang in Musrenbang Speech Text and why this speech text (concerned on the content) is produced. First, leadership model can be seen from the textual context in speech text. Second, why this speech text can be produced can be seen from the social cognition and context. So, the three approaches from Van Dijk Model Analysis can lead to two conclusions. They are the kind of leadership model and the background production of this speech text. The result of this study hopefully can be considered as a set of recommendation for the next Bupati in 2019

The author examines the image of Spain through the megaconcept of fiesta, which determines many aspects of the national and cultural mentality. This concept reflects various vectors of quotidian life, religious and popular holidays with their complicated details and special dramaturgy, penetrates to every day communication and behavior. The research determines such Spanish extralinguistic realities as corrida, tertulia, movida, botellon, indignados, analyses the role of the theater, of “coffee culture”, of football and other phenomenons in social life and cognitive space of Spaniards. The knowledge of different aspects of fiesta helps to understand the word potential of Spanish language, its metafores, stylistic images.

Proximal small bowel obstruction in the region of the duodenum is an uncommon clinical entity. Our case, which involves obstruction of the third portion of the duodenum due to an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA), is even more unusual. A review of the relevant literature regarding duodenal obstruction due to extrinsic compression includes features that differentiate aortoduodenal syndrome from superior mesenteric artery syndrome. Management of these conditions range from conservative to surgical, of which now includes a more recent role of metallic stents in some instances.

I outline the motivation for thinking about the connections between action and interaction. I then provide a preview of the remaining chapters. The first part of this book focuses on the nature of action, starting with questions about action individuation, context, the notion of “basic action,” and the temporal structure of action. These topics lead to questions about intention and the sense of agency and ultimately to the idea that we need to consider action in the social contexts of interaction. The second part looks at the role of interaction in discussions of social cognition, building a contrast between standard theory of mind, and embodied and enactive accounts. In the third part I explore possible implications of these considerations for some critical social-political questions concerning autonomy, recognition, justice, and the effects of norms and social institutions on our actions and interactions.
