The main goal of this book is to provide an understanding of what is commonly referred to as “the risk-based approach to data protection”. An expression that came to the fore during the overhaul process of the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)—even though it can also be found in other statutes under different acceptations. At its core it consists in endowing the regulated organisation that process personal data with increased responsibility for complying with data protection mandates. Such increased compliance duties are performed through risk management tools. It addresses this topic from various perspectives. In framing the risk-based approach as the latest model of a series of regulation models, the book provides an analysis of data protection law from the perspective of regulation theory as well as risk and risk management literatures, and their mutual interlinkages. Further, it provides an overview of the policy developments that led to the adoption of such an approach, which it discusses in the light of regulation theory. It also includes various discussions pertaining to the risk-based approach’s scope and meaning, to the way it has been uptaken in statutes including key provisions such as accountability and data protection impact assessments, or to its potential and limitations. Finally, it analyses how the risk-based approach can be implemented in practice by providing technical analyses of various data protection risk management methodologies.

In view of the increasing significance of services as an economic factor – along with increasing industrialisation and globalisation – the purchasing of services is also increasing in importance. This work starts with the origins of services and goes all the way to the future development of the services sector. The particular potentials and risks involved in purchasing services are shown by examples such as the implementation of risk management, the bundling of products and services, and building co-operation and networks. The different aspects of services range from those which complement the core business, to those where only services are provided, to the marketing of services. Keywords: risikomanagement, netzwerke, maverick buying, marktrecherchen, kostenrecherchen, after sales gewinn

AbstractClinical laboratory tests ensure approximately 70% of the medical decisions, so that the time until the release of the results and its accuracy are critical for the diagnosis and the efficiency of the treatment [1]. Risk management involves both the anticipation of what could happen erroneous and the assessment of errors’ frequency as well as the consequences or the severity of the effects caused by it, and finally to decide what can be done in order to reduce the risk to an acceptable clinical level. For this reason, organizations should not see the risk management as a compliance issue, but as an integral part of the decision-making process. EP23-A is a guideline of CLSI that introduces the risk management principles in the clinical laboratory and encourages the laboratories to develop plans of risk management which are addressed to the risks of each laboratory. EP18-A2 proposes 2 techniques for identifying and controlling the errors in the laboratory: FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and FRACAS (Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System). The European Committee of Experts and Management of Safety and Quality in Health Care proposed to use the quality indicators to identify the critical stages of each process, thus being possible to assess continuously the medical processes with the aim of identifying the errors when they occur. This review summarizes the principles of the risk management in the clinical laboratory, thus it can achieve its aims to report valid, accurate and reliable test results

This study aims to: (1) Know flowchart potato supply chain in Bandung regency. (2) Identify the risks arising from potato supply chain in Bandung regency. (3) Measure the risk at each level of the supply chain. (4) Map the risk. (5) know the way of farmers risk management, collectors and distributors in Bandung regency. This study uses a fish bone, Approximations, and Matrix Chart. The management of risk will determine by avoiding, controlling, transferring, and accepting the risk. The results of this study show risks of 20 per event at the farm level, 7 per event risk at the level of the collector and 10 per event at the distributor level. Based on the measurements of approximation methods are show the highest value at the farm level, then the distributor, and the lowest for the collector. Based on the mapping of the level of farmers and distributors located in quadrant I, while the level of collection is located in quadrant IV. Based on management priorities, held by avoiding, mitigating, transferring, keeping risks, shows there are 26 mitigation actions that can be realized to reduce the causes of such risks.

ABSTRACTThis paper looks at the risks faced by financial institutions, and how they can be modelled and managed. I compare the way in which each of the risks affects different types of financial institution and look for similarities (and differences) across industries. Finally, I consider what makes a good risk management system.
