One of the influential factors in the formation of modern society in the Westernworld and subsequently spread to over the world has been the discovery of printing presswhich can be found in the form of printing method, printing company and print media.Since it was firstly used by Gutenberg in about 15th century AD, information which waspreviously delivered through oral medium with a limited audience, then through a methodof printing can be reproduced in large quantities and can be read by more audience, acrossdistance and time. Printing method which encourages the emergence of large printingcompanies and then print media has contributed in transforming modern cultural life ofsociety.In addition, the advent of the printing industries which has transformed intotransnational corporations as well as the emergence of journals and regular newspapersalso contributes significantly in raising public spaces as a medium for discussion andcritical thinking amidst society. Ultimately, this information media transformation brings achange in the state system which is more open and leads to the emergence of ideas ofnationalism which becomes an important milestone in transforming traditional societiesinto modern societies.

The number of vehicles in Indonesia continues to increase every year. This also happened in Ponorogo regency. It will also be directly proportional to the number of people who have problems with their vehicles, such as leaked tire quotes for being nailed or other causes. And will also increase the need for tire services. For motorists who are less aware of the surrounding area when experiencing damage to motorcycle tires, then of course to find a place nearest tire patch will be quite difficult. Therefore in this study developed information media for Android-based applications to map the locations - tire patch locations in Ponorogo, as well as looking for the closest tire patch with the rider. This app is a location-based service (location-based service) to the driver with the nearest patch of the banal location. Based on the results of testing this application can help users find the location of location preservation, tar bambal patch location, tire repair shop list, and tire repair shop list distance. This application can also show each other the location in accordance with the location of google maps applications.

Agricultural extension is identical with the use of communication media either in searching for information or for delivering extension material. The objective of this research is to analyze the preferences of agricultural extension workers in using communication media, and how the relation of demographic and psychographic characteristics with the use of communication media. This research used a survey method to all agricultural extension workers of PNS and THL (42 respondents) residing in Balai Penyuluhan Pertanian I, VII, and X Kabupaten Bogor whose research location was chosen purposely. The result of this research shown that most agricultural extension workers have a preference for internet, books, leaflets, tabloids, magazines, and brochures as information media, and flipchart, photos and videos, slides, and leaflets as extension media. Then the demographic and psychographic characteristics tend not to have a correlation to the preferences of agricultural extension workers in using information and extension media.Keywords: agricultural extension workers, communication media, preferenceABSTRAK Penyuluhan pertanian identik dengan penggunaan media komunikasi baik dalam mencari informasi maupun untuk menyampaikan materi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis preferensi penyuluh pertanian dalam menggunakan media komunikasi, bagaimana hubungan karakteristik demografis dan psikografis dengan penggunaan media komunikasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei kepada seluruh penyuluh pertanian PNS dan THL (42 responden) yang berada di Balai Penyuluhan Pertanian I, VII, dan X Kabupaten Bogor yang lokasi penelitiannyanya dipilih secara sengaja. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar penyuluh pertanian memiliki preferensi terhadap media internet, buku, leaflet, tabloid, majalah, dan brosur sebagai media informasi, sedangkan media flipchart, foto dan video, slide, dan leaflet sebagai media penyuluhan. Kemudian karakteristik demografis maupun psikografis cenderung tidak memiliki hubungan terhadap preferensi penyuluh pertanian dalam menggunakan media informasi dan penyuluhan. Kata Kunci: media komunikasi, penyuluh pertanian, preferensi.
