Used Oil ◽

The author's research is that first, the practice of buying and selling oil that has been used before has occurred in Nagari Saruaso, Tanjung Emas sub-district, has been going on for a long time, that used oil from consumers is not used anymore or is no longer needed by consumers, so the used oil is left in the workshop. then the motorcycle repair shop collects used oil in a container or drum. The used oil is resold by the workshop to used oil collectors. Second, from the Sharia Economic Law review that the activity of buying and selling used oil at a motorcycle repair shop in Jorong Saruaso Barat, Nagari Saruaso is declared invalid, because the owner of the workshop is not the legal owner of the used oil, but it can be legal if there are pillars of buying and selling, namely ijab (an expression of buying from a buyer) and qabul (an expression of selling and selling).

The increase in internal migration has led to the emergence of ethnic minority migrant groups who work as entrepreneurs in various migration destinations in Indonesia. The migration that occurred in Manado shows that ethnic groups from certain regions form a unique group in the social network of repair shop owners and workers. This study aimed to describe the emergence and development of a ketok magic repair shop business in Manado which is owned by migrants from Blitar City, East Java. This study used a qualitative research method. Primary data were obtained from interviews and observations, while secondary data were obtained from literature studies. The results show that the opportunity structure in the form of requests for car repair and painting services as well as the ease of setting up a repair shop business has enabled the establishment of a number of ketok magic repair shops in Manado. Ethnic characteristics in the form of communities with high solidarity and strong social networks support repair shop activities well. This study concludes that community and social networks facilitate recruitment of workers and carry out repair shop promotion strategies because of high solidarity.

When customers bring a material item to a shop for repair, they must make the item and its troubles inspectable to the staff at the shop. This typically requires physical manipulation of the object by the customer. For their part, the staff person may then need to take the item into their own hands to further inspect it. A physical transfer of the object from customer to staff person may thus need to be accomplished. A practical problem that can arise in such transfers is this: who has the rights and responsibilities to touch and hold the object at any given time? In our data from a shoe repair shop, this practical problem is one of turn-taking of the participants’ hands, and the participants exhibit a clear normative orientation to “one person touches at a time”, with gaps and overlaps being common but brief. The parallels to verbal turn-taking are explored, as are the different affordances of each semiotic resource. The data are in American English.

Bengkel Mulia Motor is a place to repair a motorcycle, as three wheels or two wheels motorcycle in Purbalingga Central Java. For a motorcycle repair shop to be able to grow, it must have a reliable mechanic. But Bengkel Mulia Motor has problems for choosing a mechanics to be able accepted to work. In this study using Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method as a method used to solve the problems. By doing observations and interviews, the data obtained is used as a guide in conducting research. In this study, a mechanical candidate selection was carried out by giving 6 candidates as data samples. From the calculation results, 4 of the 6 candidates passed and were able to continue to interview stage with scores of 7.75, 8.5, 8.42, and 7.75.

High blood pressure is a condition where the systolic blood pressure is >140 mmHg and diastolic >90 mmHg. Hypertension is one of the leading causes of death in the world. The factors that cause hypertension are genetics, age, obesity, lifestyle, stress, and food consumption patterns. Continuous exposure to carbon monoxide gas at high concentrations can also cause an increase in blood pressure. This study aims to analyze the relationship of characteristics, lifestyle, and exposure of carbon monoxide with blood pressure of motorcycle repair shop mechanics at Medan City. This study is an observational study using a cross-sectional design. This research was conducted at 12 workshops in 6 sub-districts in Medan City. The sample in this study amounted to 70 mechanics. Carbon monoxide exposure data were calculated using the intake formula in the ARKL study. Mechanical blood pressure data were obtained by direct measurement twice with an interval of five minutes using a sphygmomanometer. Data analysis using bivariate test. The results showed that 54.3 percent of mechanics had high blood pressure and there was one workshop that had a CO concentration in the air that exceeded the quality standard value, namely 31,329.2 μg/Nm3. There was a significant relationship between a history of hypertension (p=0.005), smoking habits (p=0.001), physical activity (p=0.006), and sodium intake (p=0.015) with blood pressure. There was no significant relationship between exposure of carbon monoxide and systolic pressure (p=0.067) and diastolic (p=0.606). Mechanics should be able to change and control risky lifestyles by increasing physical activity, controlling cigarette consumption, reducing sodium consumption, routinely going to health services and taking hypertension drugs for mechanics who have high blood pressure. Keywords: History of Hypertension, Smoking Habits, Physical Activity, Sodium Intake, Carbon Monoxide, Systolic, Diastolic, Blood Pressure.

Given the low standing of vocational studies in English education and other systems around the world at the present time, it is refreshing to note the resurgence of interest in craft and manual work.  The currently popular BBC programme, The Repair Shop, is a celebration of this renewed interest and offers an especially graphic representation of the virtues and values of craft and handwork.  It is suggested that such example of cultural practice can help towards the enhancement of vocational education and training in schools and colleges, and assist in bridging of the divisions between academic and vocational studies at all levels of education systems.
