AbstractBeginning with the establishment of a Supreme Commission for Tourism and Antiquities’ (SCTA) in 2000, there have been official attempts by the government of Saudi Arabia to encourage domestic tourism in order to tap into the huge amounts that Saudis spend annually on vacations. This paper examines the motivations and attitudes of consumers toward tourism destinations and activities within the country (domestic tourism). Using data collected through a structured self-administered questionnaire, the study finds that familiarity and trust of the local environment, perceptions of the safer domestic environment, and limitations imposed by respondents’ vacation timing are the primary motives for choosing to spend their vacations locally, while lack of quality domestic tourist sites and services (including entertainment facilities), lack of tourism information, insufficient tourism organization services, and the harsh local environmental conditions during summer are factors that ‘push’ people from spending the vacations locally. Attitudes toward domestic tourism are generally negative, although there are significant differences in attitudes between respondents who prefer domestic destinations and those who prefer to travel out of Kingdom. Implications of the findings are outlined and discussed.

The development of technology and information is felt very rapidly and this affects aspects of work that make work easier, one of which is the development of mobile technology, information media can now be made in the form of mobile applications, using mobile technology in the form of tourist applications, which provide information - information about tourism in the district of Solok Selatan, the search for tourism information in the district of Solok Selatan will be more practical to use and users can use this application wherever they are, this application can be used as a medium of knowledge about tourism in Solok Selatan district. This Solok Selatan tourist application is expected to be able to provide more knowledge about Solok Selatan tourism to the wider community, especially the people of Solok Selatan District.

Tourism is one of the methods to publish the beauty of nature or the uniqueness of culture in a region that spreads from the coast up to the mountains. The distribution and the access to tourist attractions require mobile application. In creating the application, Bellman – Ford algorithm was used to get the shortest route. The algorithm was the Bellman – Ford algorithm which was used to calculate the shortest distance to the tourist attraction on the weighted graph. Testing the functionality of the application used a black box. The results showed that functions on the mobile application could run well. The compatibility testing showed 100% compatibility with a number of Android devices. In addition, the usability testing showed that the application was appropriate to use with percentage by 82.7% of the 30 respondents. The "Rembang tourism" mobile application can be used by users of information about tourism.

ABSTRAK Interpertasi lingkungan dapat berperan penting dalam ekowisata dengan memberikan edukasi kepada pengunjung tentang potensi kawasan, informasi tentang konsekuensi pada setiap tindakan dan mengubah perilaku pengunjung untuk melestarikan lingkungan. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari 2017, dengan tujuan mengkaji profil dan persepsi pengunjung, mengidentifikasi ketersedian media informasi dan menyusun program interpretasi lingkungan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah metode deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik wawancara menggunakan kuesioner terhadap 50 pengunjung serta Focus Group Discussion (FGD) dengan stakeholder MMEP Semarang. Observasi dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi ketersediaan media informasi yang ada di MMEP Semarang. Profil pengunjung yang datang ke MMEP Semarang paling banyak dari kelompok anak muda yang berusia antara 15-24 tahun dan  berasal dari wilayah Semarang sekitarnya (Kedungsepur). Persepsi pengunjung tentang informasi potensi wisata MMEP Semarang melalui program interpretasi yang ada, menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar pengunjung (70%) masih kurang mendapatkan edukasi mengenai potensi wisata. Ketersediaan media informasi yang ada di MMEP Semarang terdiri dari papan informasi potensi alam, papan petunjuk arah, papan sejarah penanaman mangrove, papan informasi karcis, papan sejarah awal lokasi wisata dan papan larangan wilayah Lanumad. Program interpretasi lingkungan sesuai road map pengembangan wisata tahun 2015-2020 meliputi peyediaaan jasa pemandu wisata yang kompeten dan perbaikan fasilitas interpretasi yang sudah ada.   Kata Kunci: Interpretasi Lingkungan; Wisata; Media Informasi; Maroon Mangrove Edu Park  ABSTRACT Environmental interpretation play an important role in ecotourism by educating visitors about the potency areas, providing information on the consequences of each action and stimulating visitor behavior to preserve the environment. The study was conducted in February 2017, with the aims to assess visitor profiles and perceptions, to identify the availability of information media and to develop environmental interpretation programs. The method used in this research is descriptive method. The data were collected by interviewing to 50 visitors using  questionnaires and Focus Gorup Discussion (FGD) with stakeholders at MMEP Semarang. Observations were conducted to identify the availability of information media in MMEP Semarang. Profile of visitors who come to MMEP Semarang are mostly a group of young people with aged between 15-24 years and came from Semarang. The visitor perception about information of tourism potential at MMEP Semarang from the existing interpretation program, has shown that most of the visitors (70%) get less education about tourism potential. Availability of information media available in MMEP Semarang consists of natural potential information board, direction board, mangrove planting history board, ticket board information, early history board of tourist sites and ban board of Lanumad area. The environmental interpretation program would be develop according to the road map of tourism development 2015-2020 are providing competent tour guides and upgrading the existing interpretation facilities.  Keywords: Enviromental Interpretation, Tourism, Information Media Maroon Mangrove Edupark

Increasing the volume of tourism in the regions of Russia, improving the quality of tourist services provided, creating new, original, and non-standard tourist brands are urgent tasks for Russian regions, especially in modern conditions of increasing interest in domestic tourism. To solve such important problems, it is necessary to use modern technologies for creating an information space, popular means of communication,the development of modern digital environments that allow consumers of tourism services not only conveniently and individually receive, but also to take part in the creation of original content about various thematic attractions in the country’s regions.The use of mobile applications should ensure full and diverse satisfaction of the mass demand of individual tourists, thus increasing the sustainable interest of tourism in all regions of Russia.

<em>Tourism information media is aimed at giving positive image of Indonesian tourism to international tourists. In linguistics, especially in systemic functional linguistics, herewith SFL, the attempt to create positive or negative image of a text is studied through appraisal theory. It deals with how the authors position themselves and how the readers are positioned in the text. However, when dealing with bilingual texts, the meaning shift is highly likely because the translation of the source language may not have the same appraisal features, i.e. attitude, engagement, and graduation. Therefore, an SFL-based translation model is needed to accommodate this issue. As far as the authors observe, there is no SFL-based translation model accommodating tourism texts (Nugroho, Septemuryantoro, and Lewa, 2017). The purpose of this paper is to develop an SFL-based translation model by intertwining appraisal theory (Martin and Rose, 2013), translation techniques (Molina and Albir, 2002), and translation quality assessment (Nababan et al, 2012). By applying critical literature review, the authors analyzed the application of these theories in sample data taken from four information media, namely brochure, booklet, website, and book. Furthermore, by using Flesch readability test, the authors were able to select some parts of the media which are considered “hard to read”. The result of this study reveals that there is a minimum shift of appraisal features found in the bilingual tourism media. It happens because the translators mostly employ established equivalent technique to translate the texts. However, the positive result mentioned previously does not go hand in hand with the quality of the translation. Therefore, to bridge the outcome between the appraisal features of source and target languages reflected through the use of translation techniques and the assessment result of their translation quality, the authors need to generate a holistic SFL-based translation model. </em>

Website is one kind of information media that can be used as intermediaries of tourism information. Related to that matter, Wonderful Indonesia tourism website has an important role as national-level DMO (Destination Management Organization). However, it has not been recognized yet as something important in term of tourism, especially when viewed from information dimension. Therefore, evaluation based on IPA (Importance-Performance Analysis) was carried out in order to arrange recommendation for Wonderful Indonesia tourism website. Sampling was conducted to travel agencies from ASITA (Association of Indonesian Tours & Travel Agencies) Bali, as the representative of tourism practitioners. Moreover, considering their role as intermediaries between tourism information and the tourists. Based on the results of evaluation, there was two indicators, such as accommodation information and local weather information that needed to be paid more attention. Regarding the evaluation above, further interviews were also conducted in order to get cross-check feedback, so it can be more convincing as recommendation. The interview was based on the experts that coming from government, practitioner, and academics related to tourism as stakeholders, so the recommendation for Wonderful Indonesia website is expected to be proper use according to the needs of users of tourism information.
