There are strict controls to identify members in the demonstration through the symbol. Regarding bureaucracy, this organization prioritizes communication with local authorities regarding the fulfillment of formal rules before holding a demonstration. In addition, organizational procedures are also carefully considered, especially regarding consolidating the organization’s internal communications. The media is a medium for acquiring information, presenting factual information, data accuracy, and holding the responsibilities of news writers and media ethics. With the media’s significant role in constructing information and news, the media should be unbiased. However, the media has its pattern of publishing news, such as the conflict between Israel and Palestine. These contrasts can be seen from the various framing between one media and another, such as the different points of view of news writing, the title, and the images displayed. The purpose of this study is to examine how the media reconstructs the reality of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The mass media studied were kompas.com and republika.co.id. The research method uses qualitative research with framing analysis of William A. Gamson and Andre Modigliani. Utilizing framing analyst William A. Gamson, the reality emerges in device framing devices and reasoning devices. The results showed that republika.co.id highlighted the news of the United Nations Security Council, which failed to handle the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and tried to raise the image of Palestine, which desperately needed international support. Meanwhile, kompas.com reported on the conflict more neutrally, reporting the United Nations Security Council’s exertions to stop the conflict.

This paper aims to present the study about the representation of female superhero characters and gender roles in Avenger: Endgame. This study is justified to be important as females usually have their stereotypical representation in mass media, including film. Thus, it is crucial to explore and analyze whether or not female superheroes are depicted similarly. There are three main characters analyzed in this movie, namely Gamora, Black Widow, and Nebula. This study applies the semiotics method with a qualitative approach whereby Roland Barthes Semiotics is employed as the theoretical foundation of the analysis and strategy in this study. The research has focused on the representation of gender roles and physical manifestations of the characters in the film. The study has shown that (i) each of the characters plays several roles based on the context of the story, (ii) the balance of power between male and female are not equally distributed, and lastly (iii) Gamora and Nebula being different species than Black Widow which is human, had their appearance interpreted to possess a human-like body, yet the pattern of body size among these three-female superheroes sends a message that this body shape is the “ideal and desirable” body type.

Most of the disability issues have not yet received proper representation in the media, even though quite a few people with disabilities in Indonesia. The depiction of persons with disabilities in the media often distorts them. Often people with disabilities with physical limitations are depicted incorrectly or even irrationally. The Social Construction of Reality (SCR) theory, introduced by Peter L. Berger and Thomas Luckmann, uses to analyze whether the Kick Andy television program supports the stigma of the disabled or can be a medium that changes the stigma that exists as constructs for the disabled-related community. Television viewers have a rationalistic cycle through three moments: externalization, objectivation, and internalization. This theory focuses on general meanings and constructions built by community groups to shape social order (rules, standards, values, and activities recognized in community groups). The study results show that guest stars with disabilities on the Kick Andy television program cannot separate from the social construction that has been formed in the community regarding their condition. The Kick Andy program also clarifies the social construction experienced by its guest stars, which uses as an object of motivation for the audience. The researcher found that the Kick Andy show, intentionally or unintentionally, still gave a lousy label to people with disabilities, even though the host then used the narration built as a background for inspiration.
