Powder library of pseudo four components Li-Ni-Co-Ti compounds were prepared for exploring the composition region with the single phase of the layer-type structure by using combinatorial high-throuput preparation system “M-ist Combi” based on electrostatic spray deposition method. The new layer-type compounds were found wider composition region than the previous report. This process is promising way to find functional multi-component materials.

AbstractMgO and Mg1-xTixO thin films were deposited by the electrostatic spray deposition method using Mg(tmhd)2 and Ti(OiPr)2(tmhd)2 as source materials and tetrahydrofuran and 1-octyl alcohol as solvents. The refractive index of the films shows a strong change from 1.73 for MgO to 2.39 for TiO2. The optical band gap energy values are 3.83 eV for TiO2 film and higher than 5.1 eV for films of Mg/(Mg+Ti) > 0.67. The discharge voltage and current increased with a content of Ti in Mg1-xTixO films. All these changes are closely associated with different Mg/(Mg+Ti) ratios of the films.

Abstract In this work electrostatic spray deposition process was used to deposit thin Al2O3 + TiO2 ceramic thin film on X10CrAlSi18 steel from colloidal suspension of TiO2 powder in Al2O3 precursor solution. The precursor was 3% solution of Al2(NO3)3 in ethanol. An influence of the thermal treatment after film deposition on protective properties against high temperatures and film endurance were investigated. The resistance against thermal cycles and dynamic impacts were tested. Performed investigations showed that the best protective properties had the Al2O3 + TiO2 film sintered at 1000°C.

Perovskite-type AxCa1-xByMn1-yO3-δ(A; La, Bi, Y, Sr) (B; Ni, Ti, V) thin films were prepared by the conventional electrostatic spray deposition (ESD) method in order to study which kind of substitution element show better thermoelectric property than AxCa1-xByMn1-yO3-δ. Electrical conductivity of the single-doped compound was increased when the substituted element was higher valence than Ca or Mn ion. PF value also showed similar tendency. Thermoelectric property of all compounds obtained the ESD method were consistent with the report of the solid-state reaction. Also, co-doped Bi0.02Ca0.98Mn0.98V0.02O3-δ and Bi0.02Ca0.98Mn0.98Ni0.02O3-δ showed relatively higher conductivity and PF value.
