In accordance with the provisions of the Act on crisis management, a significant element of the national, voivodeship, poviat and commune crisis management plans is to create hazard and risk maps. A useful element in risk management is also vulnerability maps. Vulnerability determines the interdependence of the sensitivity and resistance of the local population and the environment to risk. This article describes how to create risk maps and vulnerability maps.

Risk is an integral part of business. The volatility and unpredictability of the organization's external environment complicates risk management for the firm. The activity of a trade organization depends on the efficiency of logistic risks management, which in the majority of cases, may have negative consequences for the company. We provided the classification of logistic risks depending on the level of their occurrence. The principles of management of the company's logistics risks are considered. We assessed the relevance of international standards of risk management to the management of logistics risks in the trade area. The individual stages of risk management were examined in relation to the logistics of a trade organization. The article explored the use of risk maps and mapping of logistic risks in the process of risk management. We examined main methods of logistic risk management in the activities of a trading company.

This paper presents a simple and inexpensive alternative risk management of surface soil erosion and landslides for vineyards farms. The application is cheap because it uses very cheap or even free of charge techniques and tools. Furthermore, this method can be also applied and used for other type of farms. At the same time, the method can be applied to any land and not only for the risk management of the soil erosion and landslides, but also for managing data and records of land parcels with different uses. The main idea is using free GIS software in order to obtain the necessary geometric data required for the relevant area relief. GIS software can archive geometrical characteristics of terrain data, soil data, vegetation covering data, etc. Risk estimators calculation is achieved by two basic models of soil erosion and landslides. Risk maps are performed using the same GIS software.

This article describes the determination of asset values in residential and industrial areas in Poland that can be used in the preparation of flood hazard and risk maps (FRMs) and flood risk management plans (FRMPs). In the Floods Directive’s first cycle of implementation (2010–2015), German indicators of asset value were adapted to Polish conditions. This approach was used due to the lack of national statistics necessary to determine the value of property. In this study, the asset values in residential and industrial areas were prepared on the basis of the nationwide household wealth survey conducted in 2016 by the Narodowy Bank Polski (the central bank of Poland) and other data available from Statistics Poland. The proposed approach enables the determination of asset values based on real, validated data. The obtained indicators result in higher and more realistic values of the assets of households (buildings with contents) and the assets of companies (fixed assets and stocks) operating in both residential and industrial areas. The proposed approach, as an extension in relation to the first planning cycle, has been implemented in the second cycle of FRMP preparation in Poland.
