The king coconut (Thambili) which is characterized by its bright orange colour is said to have originated in Sri Lanka and is tertned cocos nucifera var. Aurantiaca. The diagnostic characters of varieties are mostly nut size, colour of epicarp, mesocarp and thickness of endosperm.   Marco Polo, who passed through Sumatra more than seven hundred years ago described the coconut as containing an edible substance that is sweet and pleasant to the taste. He said, ‘the cavity of pulp is filled with the liquid clear as water, cool and better flavoured and more delicious than wine or any other kind of drink whatever’.

Abstract CLARITE HW26 is a medium-carbon tungsten hot-work tool steel. It has the highest resistance to softening at elevated temperatures and highest abrasion resistance of any hot-work tool steel. In the 1200-1300 F range it retains good working hardness and sufficient toughness to give outstanding performance. For maximum service life, tools should be pre-heated before starting hot operation and air cooled when necessary during hot operation; do not water cool at any time. CLARITE HW26 is recommended when long tool and die life is required at elevated temperatures. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: TS-479. Producer or source: Columbia Tool Steel Company.

Oxy-acetylene flame heating has been employed with an ordinary Nonius Weissenberg camera for high-temperature single-crystal studies over the the range 1000-3000°C. The regulator blow pipe is mounted horizontally on the camera track and one end of the experimental crystal (1 cm long) is heated by the vertical flame issuing out of a 0.5 mm bore nozzle* A long slot cut at the top of the film-cassette allows the flame to escape out without touching the X-ray film. The film-cassette consists of two split-halves hinged on one side so that it can be opened and slipped over the screen tubes. This arrangement avoids the necessity for removing the flame each time a new film is mounted on the camera. The goniometer arcs can be positioned during high-temperature exposures, and there is no need to water-cool the cassette up to the highest temperature. The device has been used to take photographs of MgO single crystals at 2100°C. It permits a ready application to diffractometers based on Weissenberg geometry.

Screw tree is a shrub from family Malvaceae that has many benefits in pharmacy. Screw tree seed has very hard seed coat, so the seed must be treated before germination. The aim of this research was to assess the characteristic of fruit and seeds, effect of seed breaking dormancy, and effect of NPK fertilizer dosage on the growth of screw tree (Helicteres isora) seedlings. The results indicated that screw tree fruits belong to dry fruits with capsule form and has 5 follicles that has different direction. Screw tree seed is orthodox type that has 9 ̶ 36 seeds in one follicle with triangle and square shape. Germination technique in laboratory with soaking the seeds in hot water 100oC until the water cool for 48 hours treatment produced the best germination amounting to 65.0%. Germination technique in green house with soaking the seeds in hot water 100oC until the water cool for 24 hours treatment was the best germination amounting to 77.0%. Seedlings fertilized with 1 g NPK doses increased screw tree growth in diameter parameter of 6.35 mm and shoot-root ratio parameter of 3.9 compared to control.

The present paper introduces the notion of cool storage system and summarizes its benefits, especially the environmental ones: air emissions savings and CFC reductions. Four existing cool storage types are outlined: chilled water storage, ice storage, PCM (phase change material) cool storage and high temperature water cool storage and a commonly employed value analysis method is introduced and applied to select the best cool storage option. An evaluating method is established and the best type of cool storage is obtained. The results indicate that high temperature water cool storage is the optimal option, and the method of value analysis has applicability in selecting an optimal system.
