Analysis has been conducted to analyze the effects of second order slip flow and heat transfer of Jeffrey nanofluid over a stretching sheet with non linear thermal radiation and chemical reaction. The effects of Brownian motion and thermophoresis occur in the transport equations. The velocity, temperature and nanoparticle concentration profiles are analyzed with respect to the involved parameters of interest namely Brownian motion parameters, thermophoresis parameter, magnetic parameter, radiation parameter, Prandtl number, Lewis number, chemical reaction parameter, and Deborah number, Convergence of the derived solutions was checked and the influence of embedded parameters was analyzed by plotting graphs. It was noticed that the velocity increases with an increase in the Deborah number. We further found that for fixed values of other parameters, numerical values of the skin friction coefficient, local Nusselt numbers and Sherwood numbers were computed and examined. A comparative study between the previous published and present results in a limiting sense is found in an excellent agreement.

Abstract A fluid flow and heat transfer analysis of an electrically conducting non-Newtonian power law fluid flowing over a non-linear stretching surface in the presence of a transverse magnetic field taking into consideration viscous dissipation effects is investigated. The stretching velocity, the temperature and the transverse magnetic field are assumed to vary in a power-law with the distance from the origin. The flow is induced due to an infinite elastic sheet which is stretched in its own plane. The governing equations are reduced to non-linear ordinary differential equations by means of similarity transformations. By using quasi-linearization techniques first linearize the non linear momentum equation is linearized and then the coupled ordinary differential equations are solved numerically by an implicit finite difference scheme. The numerical solution is found to be dependent on several governing parameters, including the magnetic field parameter, power-law index, Eckert number, velocity exponent parameter, temperature exponent parameter, modified Prandtl number and heat source/sink parameter. A systematic study is carried out to illustrate the effects of these parameters on the fluid velocity and the temperature distribution in the boundary layer. The results for the local skin-friction coefficient and the local Nusselt number are tabulated and discussed.

The effect of thermal radiation on flow and heat transfer of Maxwell fluid over a stretching surface with variable thickness embedded in a porous medium is considered. The governing non-linear PDE are transformed into a non-linear ODE by using a similarity transformation. These equations were solved numerically with fourth/fifth-order Runge-Kutta method. A comparison of obtained numerical results is made with the previously results in some special cases and excellent agreement is noted. The effects of elasticity, radiation parameter, porosity parameter, wall thickness parameter, and thermal conductivity parameter on the velocity and temperature profiles are presented. Moreover, the skin-friction and Nusselt number are presented.

The paper presents the results of modeling the dynamics of flow, friction and heat transfer in a descending gas-liquid flow in the pipe. The mathematical model is based on the use of the Eulerian description for both phases. The effect of a change in the degree of dispersion of the gas phase at the input, flow rate, initial liquid temperature and its friction and heat transfer rate in a two-phase flow. Addition of the gas phase causes an increase in heat transfer and friction on the wall, and these effects become more noticeable with increasing gas content and bubble diameter.
