Two species of the marine harpacticoid family Pseudotachidiidae (Copepoda) are reported from subtidal sediments in the Southern Sea of Korea. Psammis wellsi sp. nov. (Danielsseniinae) is most closely related to P. longisetosa Sars, 1910 but differs from its European congener in the ventral ornamentation of the female genital double-somite, the dorsal ornamentation of the second abdominal somite in the male, the armature of the proximal endite of the maxillary syncoxa, the relative setal lengths and general shape of the female P5, and the relative length of the inner seta of the male P5 endopodal lobe and P6. The female of Pseudomesochra tatianae Drzycimski, 1968 is redescribed in detail, constituting the only other record of the species since its discovery at the type locality in western Norway. East Asian records of members of the four subfamilies currently recognized in the Pseudotachidiidae are summarized. Published and other records of the 23 described species in the Pseudomesochrinae are collated and their armature patterns of P1–P5 are tabulated and corrected where necessary. Pseudomesochra affinis (Sars, 1920) is removed from its synonymy with P. longifurcata T. Scott, 1902 and formally reinstated as a valid species. An updated female-based key to the 19 valid species of Pseudomesochra T. Scott, 1902 and four species of Keraia Willen & Dittmar, 2009 is presented.

A New Species

Steriphodon Abeille de Perrin, 1895, a small genus of Eurygeniinae (Anthicidae) is reviewed. Critical morphology of the genus is reassessed and discussed. An annotated checklist, key to species and new records are provided. Steriphodon ottomerkli sp. nov. from the Balochistan Province, Pakistan is described and illustrated.

Two new species are described: Cobelura prenai, from Costa Rica, included in a new key to species of the genus; and Paranisopodus thalassinus, from Costa Rica, included in a previous key to species of the genus. Notes on Cobelura peruviana (Aurivillius, 1920) are provided and the holotype of Cobelura vermicularis Kirsch, 1889 is illustrated for the first time. Two new genera, Freytagolidia, type-species Freytagolidia ligula sp. nov. and Neodocalidia, type-species Neodocalidia connectiva sp. nov., from Colombia are described and illustrated. Nineteen additional new species are described and illustrated in the following genera: Baluba sharkeyi sp. nov. (Colombia), Bolidiana robusta sp. nov. (Colombia), B. trisetacea sp. nov. (French Guiana), B. elongata sp. nov. (Colombia), Harasupia lyrata sp. nov. (Mexico), Hastalidia acinaca sp. nov. (Peru), Jalorpa constricta sp. nov. (Colombia), Licontinia minutasetacea sp. nov. (Colombia), L. recurvata sp. nov. (Panama), Panolidia torquersi sp. nov. (Colombia), P. minuta sp. nov. (Colombia), Sapingia calcaris sp. nov. (Colombia), Stalolidia flangella sp. nov. Colombia is a new record for Baluba, Jalorpa, Panolidia, Sapingia and Stalolidia; Panama for Licontinia; Peru for Hastalidia and Ecuador for Stalolidia. The type-species name, Coelidia marginata Stål, for Harasupia Nielson, 1979 was incorrectly cited as Harasupia marginata (Stål) and is corrected herein.

This study on the vespid fauna (Hymenoptera: Vespidae) reports 33 species belonging to 22 genera and four subfamilies from the state of Goa, India. Of these, 26 species, 18 genera, and two subfamilies are newly recorded from Goa. Illustrated keys to the genera and species of vespid wasps of Goa along with notes on their geographical distribution are provided.

A New Species

Spathipheromyia Bigot is a small group of predaceous muscids endemic of the Neotropical region. Currently, the genus includes 14 species of which only Spathipheromyia atra Malloch, 1934, S. magellani Malloch, 1934 and S. guttipennis (Thomson, 1869) are listed for Argentina. We present a new species Spathipheromyia goliat sp. nov. for Argentina and registered S. albiceps Malloch, 1934 for the first time for Argentina. Also we present a more detailed description of male and female terminalia of S. albiceps, S. atra, and S. guttipennis, notes on their habitat, new records, a key to species, and a discussion on structure of male terminalia.

According to previous reports, the number of cicada species known from Vietnam is 131; these represent 45 genera. Neotanna yunnanensis Lei et Chou, 1997 and Neotanna sinensis Ouchi, 1938 are transferred to Tanna Distant, 1905 to become Tanna yunnanensis (Lei et Chou, 1997) comb. nov. and Tanna sinensis (Ouchi, 1938) comb. nov., Proretinata vemaculata Chou & Yao, 1986 is transferred to Angamiana Distant, 1890 to become Angamiana vemacula (Chou et Yao, 1986) comb. nov.. Twenty additional species are here recorded for the fauna of Vietnam for the first time: Scolopita lusiplex Chou et Lei, 1997, Hea fasciata Distant, 1906, Hea yunnanensis Chou et Yao, 1995, Katoa chlorotica Chou et Lu, 1997, Mogannia effecta Distant, 1892, Nipponosemia guangxiensis Chou et Wang, 1993, Ambragaeana ambra Chou et Yao, 1985, Balinta tenebricosa (Distant, 1888), Gaeana cheni Chou et Yao, 1985, Gaeana hainanensis Chou et Yao, 1985, Sulphogaeana dolicha Lei, 1997, Paratalainga yunnanensis Chou et Lei, 1992, Formotosena seebohmi (Distant, 1904), Angamiana vemacula (Chou et Yao, 1986), Pomponia backanensis sp. nov., Purana guttularis (Walker, 1858), Tanna yunnanensis (Lei et Chou, 1997), Tanna sinensis (Ouchi, 1938), Euterpnosia ruida Lei et Chou, 1997, Inthaxara flexa Lei et Li, 1996, and Sinosemia shirakii Matsumura, 1927. One of these, Katoa chlorotica, is the first representative of the subfamily Tettigadinae and the tribe Tibicini for Vietnam. One new species, Pomponia backanensis sp. nov., is described and a key to species of Vietnamese Pomponia is provided.

The eight species included by Wood and Bright (1992) in the Palaeotropical scolytine genus Hadrodemius Wood are reviewed. The following new synonymy is proposed: Hadrodemius comans (Sampson) (= Xyleborus amorphus Eggers syn.n., = Xyleborus metacomans Eggers syn.n.), Hadrodemius globus (Blandford) (= Xyleborus tomentosus Eggers syn.n.), Hadrodemius pseudocomans (Eggers) (= Xyleborus artecomans Schedl syn.n.). Hadrodemius (Xyleborus) pubifer (Schedl) is transferred to the genus Coptodryas Wood. Xyleborus melli Schedl is misplaced by Wood & Bright (1992) as a synonym of Hadrodemius amorphus and is here transferred to Xylosandrus Reitter. The following new synonymy is proposed: Xylosandrus amputatus (Blandford) (= Xyleborus melli Schedl syn.n.). A key to the females of the three species now included in the genus is provided. The taxonomy, distribution and biology of the species are briefly reviewed, and some new records included.
