Application of sensitivity analysis in optimization of process parameters of production processes for innovative materials, e.g. dual phase steel, requires deterministic model of thermomechanical processes and large datasets that covers whole surface of results. Difficulties in optimization of process parameters correspond with large number of control variables, which should be considered in the technology design. Furthermore, conduction of such analysis takes the great computational cost. Presented work concerns possibility of application of regression trees, especially CART model, in preliminary analysis for sensitivity analysis. Use of data mining algorithms enables acquiring of preliminary, rough results: relationships among parameters of the hot rolling process of dual phase steel strips and rules of optimization of this process, it also does not require any apriori knowledge about thermomechanical processes.

Deep drawing dual phase steel was designed and trial-produced in the laboratory. The microstructure and recrystallization texture was studied using OM,TEM and XRD techniques. The results show that texture components typically in DP steels are γ (<111>//ND) and α (<110>//RD) fibers, which is partly attributed to the precipitation of Mo-based carbides in hot-rolled plate. Besides, {554}<225> and {332}<113> texture components are also founded in deep drawing DP steels, which are beneficial to improvement of drawability. With the increasing of annealing temperature, the tensile strength and elongation of DP steels are increased and decreased, respectively, and the r value is reduced slightly.

A thermo-mechanical coupled finite element model for warm forming of dual-phase steel (DP) laser tailor-welded blanks (TWBs) was established based on ABAQUS software. The isothermal deep drawing of rectangular cups at elevated temperatures and the non-isothermal deep drawing at the temperature of 400°C were simulated. The distributions of temperature and differences between the isothermal and non-isothermal conditions were discussed. The results show that the temperature has great effect on the warm forming of DP-TWBs, and it achieves the best formability at the forming temperature of 400°C, and the non-isothermal deep drawing can further improve the warm formability.

Dual phase steel generally has poor deep drawing property with a low r value less than 1.0, making it difficult to be used for deep drawing automotive parts. In order to improve the mechanical properties of the steel through heat treatment, effect of heat treatments with different conditions on a Fe-Si-Cr-Mo-C deep drawing dual-phase steel was investigated with the aim of identifying effective heat treatment parameters for effective modification towards optimal properties. Relevant thermal dilation and heat treatment experiments were performed. Corresponding characters were investigated. The results show that island martensite can be obtained at low cooling rate. With the increase of cooling rate, the formation of pearlite and bainite is favored. During annealing at low temperatures, recrystallization of the steel is incomplete with the presence of the shear bands. With the increase of annealing temperature, the recrystallization process is gradually complete, and the number of high angle grain boundaries increases significantly. The ratio of gamma orientation components to alpha orientation components decreases first and then increases with the increase of annealing temperature. The strain hardening exponent and r value show an upward trend with respect to annealing temperature, and the r value is as high as 1.15.
