Based on the research of the theory and the experiment of EMD and Intrinsic Modal Energy Entropy, the vibration signal of a rolling bearing in a Blowing Machine of a certain factory was measured when working. Then the signal was decomposed by EMD, its Intrinsic Modal Energy Entropy was calculated and used as fault feature. Finally, using a Support Vector Classification System, a satisfied effect of fault diagnosis of a rolling bearing in a Blowing Machine was got. The experiment had confirmed that the method was advanced, reliable and practical. A new method was provided for fault diagnosis of rolling bearings in some Blowing Machines.

Abstract Due to the development of smaller and denser manufacturing processes most of the hardware localization techniques cannot keep up satisfactorily with the technology trend. There is an increased need in precise and accurate software based diagnosis tools to help identify the fault location. This paper describes the software based fault diagnosis method used within Philips, focusing on the features developed to increase its accuracy.

To address deficiencies in the process of fault diagnosis of belt conveyor, this study uses a BP neural network algorithm combined with fuzzy theory to provide an intelligent fault diagnosis method for belt conveyor and to establish a BP neural network fault diagnosis model with a predictive function. Matlab is used to simulate the fuzzy BP neural network fault diagnosis of the belt conveyor. Results show that the fuzzy neural network can filter out unnecessary information; save time and space; and improve the fault diagnosis recognition, classification, and fault location capabilities of belt conveyor. The proposed model has high practical value for engineering.

When early failures in rolling bearings occur, we need to be able to extract weak fault characteristic frequencies under the influence of strong noise and then perform fault diagnosis. Therefore, a new method is proposed: complete ensemble intrinsic time-scale decomposition with adaptive Lévy noise (CEITDALN). This method solves the problem of the traditional complete ensemble intrinsic time-scale decomposition with adaptive noise (CEITDAN) method not being able to filter nonwhite noise in measured vibration signal noise. Therefore, in the method proposed in this paper, a noise model in the form of parameter-adjusted noise is used to replace traditional white noise. We used an optimization algorithm to adaptively adjust the model parameters, reducing the impact of nonwhite noise on the feature frequency extraction. The experimental results for the simulation and vibration signals of rolling bearings showed that the CEITDALN method could extract weak fault features more effectively than traditional methods.

This study investigates a novel method for roller bearing fault diagnosis based on local characteristic-scale decomposition (LCD) energy entropy, together with a support vector machine designed using an Artificial Chemical Reaction Optimisation Algorithm, referred to as an ACROA-SVM. First, the original acceleration vibration signals are decomposed into intrinsic scale components (ISCs). Second, the concept of LCD energy entropy is introduced. Third, the energy features extracted from a number of ISCs that contain the most dominant fault information serve as input vectors for the support vector machine classifier. Finally, the ACROA-SVM classifier is proposed to recognize the faulty roller bearing pattern. The analysis of roller bearing signals with inner-race and outer-race faults shows that the diagnostic approach based on the ACROA-SVM and using LCD to extract the energy levels of the various frequency bands as features can identify roller bearing fault patterns accurately and effectively. The proposed method is superior to approaches based on Empirical Mode Decomposition method and requires less time.
