The effect of δ phase content on the hot deformation behavior of alloy IN718 has been investigated using isothermal compression tests. The results indicated that the δ phase has a significant effect on the deformation behavior of alloy IN718 during hot working. After the peak stress, the decreasing speed of the stress raises as the increase in the δ phase content. The deformation activation energy for alloy IN718 increases with the raise of the δ phase content. And the peak strain for the alloy decreases with the increase of the δ phase content, which indicates that the δ phase can stimulate the occurrence of dynamic recrystallization during hot working.

The hot deformation behavior of powder metallurgy Ti-5Al-5V-5Mo-3Cr (Ti-5553) alloy was investigated by isothermal compression test at the wide temperature range of [Formula: see text]–[Formula: see text]C, under an intermediate strain rate of 0.1 s[Formula: see text], and with the sample deformation degree of 30%, 50% and 70%. Results suggested that the flow stress was very sensitive to the deformation variables and it decreased with increasing the deformation temperature. Flow localization occurred when the temperature was lower than [Formula: see text]C, accompanied by the dynamic morphology changing of [Formula: see text] phase. Dynamic recovery (DRV) features appeared when the temperature was over [Formula: see text]C, while dynamic recrystallization (DRX) took a more important role than DRV for the alloy compressed at [Formula: see text]–[Formula: see text]C.

AbstractIn order to develop reliable constitutive equations for the simulation, the hot deformation behavior of FV520B steel was investigated through isothermal compression tests in a wide range of temperatures from 900 °C to 1100 °C at an interval of 50 °C and strain rate from 0.01 to 10 s

Isothermal compression test at constant strain rate for Cr-77.5Nb alloy were performed on Gleeble simulator with conditions of deformation temperature from 800 to 1200°C and strain rate from 0.001s-1to 0.1s-1. The influence of deformation parameters including temperature, strain rate and strain related with flow stress during hot deformation were investigated and the constitutive relation of Cr-77.5Nb alloy was established by stepwise regression method. The result of error analysis shows that the constitutive relation established has high accuracy and can well characterize the hot deformation behavior of this alloy.
