At present, the main methods of analyzing the reasons why construction cost always got out of control are qualitative analysis based on the practical construction experiences in the construction cost management. And these analyses were easily affected by subjective factors. By introducing a complete decomposition model, the influencing factors of the incontrollable construction cost in the construction stage can be decomposed to the effect of quantity changes and the effect of unit price changes of each kind of construction. A quantitative analysis will be carried on subsequently to analyzing these effects to find the main effects of the whole construction cost changes. This model made the analysis more objective and scientific, and can accumulate the data for new or planned similar constructions. To illustrate, the decomposition on construction cost changes of a small civil project is carried out.

Abstract Purpose. Recently, foreign economic activity in Ukraine has gradually shifted towards the European Union (EU). The EU’s special interest in the potential of Ukraine’s transit transport lies in the geographical position of the country, which is located on the main routes of international freight traffic. The article aims to study the status and development opportunities in the field of transit freight transport of the Ukrainian railway joint-stock company (JSC Ukrzaliznytsya) within the framework of European integration. Methodology. The article presents the analysis of the activity of the JSC Ukrzaliznytsya in the field of transit freight transport for the period of 2005-2017 and outlines the strategic prospects for its development as a significant transit route considering the conditions of European integration. The methodology included theoretical and practical research using statistical methods; methods of comparative analysis; ABC analysis method; and taxonomic method. Results. The JSC Ukrzaliznytsya was analysed to determine the status of its activity in the field of transit freight transportation for 2005-2017. A structural-dynamic analysis was made to estimate cargo volumes transported by railway enterprises and related revenues. 18 types of cargo were identified using the ABC analysis method based on two indicators, namely, “volumes of transportation” and “revenues from cargo transit”. Also, taxonomic indicators of the level of system development were considered and revenues from cargo transit for the analysed period were estimated. Finally, recommendations were proposed regarding the development of a joint-stock company as a strategic cargo transporter under the conditions of European integration with Ukraine. Practical implications (if applicable). The results of the conducted research and performed calculations confirmed the need to refocus the management activity of the JSC Ukrzaliznytsya in the field of cargo transit towards strategically important cargoes, which have the largest share in the structure of financial results. This will enable the company to achieve its leading role as a strategic transit carrier of the European Union in the near future.

Management of drug is one of the factors which contribute to the quality of hospital services. This study aimed at finding out drug planning in Pharmacy Unit of Adelia Surgical Hospital by using ABC analysis method. This research is qualitative descriptive study involving informants. Primary data were collected by interview with respondents and secondary data report of general drugs purchased period of May 2018 – May 2019. The Result using ABC analysis indicate that there are 23 (17,42%) kindof drugs in group A, 35 (26,52%) in group B and 74 (56,06%) in grup C. Group A if in the event of an excess or deficiency will couse harm to the hospital. ABC analysis method will effectively improve hospital drug consumption plan.

In this paper Complete Decomposition Model is used to compute the future energy saving pattern from the difference of the 'trend' and 'real' values of energy consumption. The 'trend' is defined as a sum of activity effect and the energy use in the base year. The 'real' is defined as a sum of energy consumption in the base year and the change in energy consumption due to the activity effect, structural effect and intensity effect. This analysis is carried out in respect of Bangladesh for the period 2008-2030. The economic sectors that are taken in to account are agriculture, industry and service. The futuristic view shows that Bangladesh can save about 47.47 MTOE in agriculture sector and 34.96 MTOE from service sector. On the other hand, industry sector, which is accounted for 58% of the total energy consumption, failed to save energy, rather the country consumed 227 MTOE more energy than usual. The energy rebound effect that relies upon the activity effect and structural effect has also been estimated to examine the energy uses pattern of these sectors. The aggregate energy rebound effect was found to be 1480 MTOE, of which activity effect and structural effect contribute 91.21% and 8.78% respectively. Reinforced concrete walls are very efficient structural elements in terms of carrying the lateral loads that are expected to affect the structures during the service of the buildings. These elements, which are not used for economic reasons in buildings designed in areas with low seismic hazard, can actually provide a significant increase in performance with a very small increase in construction cost. In this study, a total of 9 building models have been created and the relationship between optimum reinforced concrete wall ratio and cost on these buildings has been investigated. The design and analysis of the models were carried out according to the criteria specified in TSC 2018. Three different structural systems specified in TSC 2018 were used in the designed models. These structural systems used; RC frame structures, RC wall-frame structures and RC wall structures. These structures were analyzed by Response Spectrum Method which is linear analysis method and base shear forces were obtained. Then, push-over analysis, which is a nonlinear analysis method, was applied to obtain the base shear forces that the structure can actually carry. After the analysis, the quantities of materials to be used for the construction of the structural systems of the models were calculated and current manufacturing prices and rough costs were calculated. In order to compare the obtained costs with the structural performances, nonlinear shear forces and linear shear forces ratios were calculated and the over strength factors were calculated for each model. In the light of the data obtained from the studies in the literature, when the over strength factors and cost values are examined together, it is concluded that the optimum design for the conditions specified in TSC 2018 will be provided with the RC wall ratio between 0.001 - 0.0016. It is concluded that lateral load carrying capacity of construction increases up to 650% by increasing the construction cost by 17% for the designed models.
