The argon and carbon dioxide co-injection tests were carried out with low carbon steel melts of 100 kg in a multi-function direct current ladle furnace (DC-LF) equipped with a hollow graphite electrode. It is shown that, the electrode consumption rate and the carburetion rate decrease when Ar-CO2gas mixtures are blown into the furnace. The carburetion rate is 3.6×10-6per minute for the steel heated by conventional LF, and is 1.35 and 3.22 times of the heats blown 85%Ar-15%CO2 and 80%Ar-20%CO2, respectively. The carburetion rate is reduced by 25.8% at least than normal LF. The more the carbon dioxide content in the gas mixtures is, the less the carburetion rate and the electrode consumption rate are. With the increasing of the electrode consumption rate, the carburetion rate becomes bigger.

The double-decker lutetium(III) phthalocyanine [( C 6 H 13 S )8 Pc ]2 Lu was investigated by electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical methods and comparisons made to previously investigated [( C 12 H 25 S )4 Pc ]2 Lu and ( Pc )2 Lu under the some experimental conditions. All three compounds undergo a single reversible one-electron oxidation and up to four reversible one-electron reductions in CH 2 Cl 2 containing 0.1 M tetra-n-butylammonium perchlorate (TBAP). The octa- and tetra substituted phthalocyanine derivatives exhibit one oxidation and three or four reductions in solution while five reductions can be detected for the two compounds in a gel-like cast film membrane of tetraoctylphosphonium bromide (4 C 8 P + Br −) at a basal plane pyrolytic graphite electrode which was immersed in aqueous 0.5 M KCl . The half-wave potentials of these SR substituted complexes in CH 2 Cl 2 are negatively shifted by 210-490 mV from E1/2 values for the same compounds in the aqueous 4 C 8P+ Br − matrix and five reductions of these compounds are observed under the latter experimental conditions. The UV-visible spectra of the compounds were measured in five different oxidation states and ESR spectra were also characterized for the neutral and doubly reduced complexes. As was expected, [( Pc )2 Lu ]−,{[( C 6 H 13 S )8 Pc ]2 Lu }− and {[( C 12 H 25 S )4 Pc ]2 Lu }− are ESR silent while electrogenerated [( Pc )2 Lu ]2−, {[( C 6 H 13 S )8 Pc ]2 Lu }2− and {[( C 12 H 25 S )4 Pc ]2 Lu }2− show broad strong signals at g = 2.0046, 2.0041 and 2.0034 with linewidths of 13.9, 16.1 and 12.9, respectively. These signals are indicative of organic free radicals where the unpaired electrons of the dianion are delocalized over two macrocycles.

The One of alternative energy that is environmentally friendly is by untilize water energy and turn it into a Microhydro power plant. Microhydro power plant usually made from utilize the waterfall with the head fell. While utilization for streams with a head small drop is not optimal yet. This is a reference to doing research on harnessing the flow of a river that has a value of head low between 0.7 m – 1.4 m with turning it into a Vortex flow (vortex). The purpose of this research is to know  the effect variation number of blade on power and efficiency in the vortex turbine. This research uses experimental methods to find current, voltage, torque and rpm using a reading instrument. The materials research vortex turbine used 6 blade, 8 blade and 10 blade with flat plate. The result showed the highest efficiency is 29,93 % with produce turbine power is 19,58 W, generated on turbine with variation 10 blade with load 3,315 kg and the capacity of water 10,14 l/s. Followed with an efficiency 24,17% and produce turbine power is 15,81 W, generated on turbine with the variation 8 blade with load 3,315 kg and the capacity of water is 10,14 l/s. The the lowest turbine efficiency 22,32% with produce tuebine power 14,60 W, generated on turbine with the variation 6 blade with load 3,315 kg, the capacity of water is 10,14 l/s.
