Abstract. Background: The use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in health care is increasing attention. To describe health inequalities and equity with regard to the use of digital health technologies in a care context and to understand interrelationships, it is of particular importance for the field of care research to use models and theories that explain health inequalities and equity in the use of digital technologies. Aims: This article aims to identify models and theories from the field of nursing and health research that explain the phenomenon of health inequalities and the influence of digital health technologies on the emergence of inequalities. Methods: Relevant articles were searched in electronic databases (MEDLINE, CINAHL & SocINDEX) between July and August 2019 in German and English, within the methodological framework of a scoping review. The systematic literature search and data extraction were performed by 2 reviewers. The description of data refers to standard criteria by 8-1Christiansen and Baum (1997). Results: From a total of 25 relevant articles, 2 were identified for inclusion in the current overview. One model is focusing on ICT for health and the other model focuses on eHealth. No nursing theory could be identified in the context of describing the phenomenon of digital inequality. Conclusions: In both models, there is a lack of discussion about the impact of nursing aspects on the use and acceptance of eHealth technologies. One point should also be the development of models and theories that consider the user perspective of vulnerable groups.

Abstract The purpose of the study is to identify the features of the digital development of the agricultural industry and to identify significant factors restraining its development. To achieve this goal, a comparative analysis of the impact of the level of accessibility availability and use of information and communication technologies (ICT) tools by agricultural entrepreneurs on sectoral performance indicators was carried out in the study. The paradox of performance in the context of digital inequality is revealed. The author’s position is formulated, the essence of which is to build digital platforms - ecosystems to support the industry’s growth mechanisms. The results obtained in this study can act as a driving force in agricultural production and sale systems.

Abstract Despite the increasing application of information and communication technologies (ICT) in health care, robust data on the effectiveness and implementation of digital health solutions is lacking. Therefore, the objective of this analysis is to identify and categorise implications for future research in order to inform policy and practice decisions. Systematic reviews and meta-analyses of RCTs evaluating the effectiveness of telemedicine in chronic diseases, all identified via a recent umbrella review, were used as primary sources of information. Qualitative content analysis following Mayring (2000) was used to categorize future research topics mentioned in the discussion sections and conclusions of included research published after 2015. Parallel, independent data extraction and coding using inductive category development was performed by two researchers with previous coding experience. Any disagreements were solved by discussion. Of the 25 included systematic reviews and meta analyses, 23 reported on future research implications. They were categorised as follows: (1) Need for high quality studies including specific outcome measures; (2) Need for comprehensive technology assessment; (3) Need for in-depth considerations of patients’ characteristics & more diverse study populations; (4) Ethics & Safety; and (5) Translation & implementation strategies. A codebook comprising descriptions and examples of those categories and sub-categories was developed. Results show a need for larger and more rigorous studies with longer intervention durations, mid- to long-term follow-ups as well as more heterogeneous study populations. More pragmatic study designs to evaluate multimodal and tailored interventions like telemedicine solutions are needed to develop an improved understanding on mechanisms and target-group specific effectiveness. Key messages We need a stronger focus on relevant and well-designed studies to improve the impact of telemedicine trials. Identified needs have the potential to inform future guidelines for the use of telemedicine.

AbstractTranslation is an important means of enabling access to information in an emergency response. Increasingly, volunteer translators have been using social media platforms to self-organize and carry out urgent translation tasks that effectively complement official disaster relief efforts. However, the role of crowdsourced translations and the capacity of volunteer translators in reducing the impact of disasters remain underestimated and therefore understudied. Based on semi-structured interviews with five volunteer translators and online observation of their translation practices, this study investigates the role of a volunteer-driven crowdsourced translation effort in facilitating the donation and procurement of medical supplies between Wuhan and the world. By addressing the real challenges of urgent crisis communication in Wuhan in the early stages of the pandemic, this study draws attention to the need to integrate information and communication technologies with multilingual resources for disaster relief. In addition, it calls for the inclusion of multilingual logistics in national emergency preparation, response and recovery plans.

The impact and benefit that information and communication technologies (ICT) have in the educational field require new teaching skills. This fact has been increased by the recent crisis caused by COVID-19. This study tries to investigate the level of digital teaching competence (DTC) of Higher Education teachers of Health Sciences, and its relationship with several variables. For this, it has the participation of 300 teachers from the 9 universities of Andalusia (Spain). The research is structured through a descriptive (RQ1) and inferential (RQ2) design. The answers given to the DigCompEdu Check-In questionnaire adapted to the Spanish context are analyzed. The results, which show high levels of reliability of the questionnaire (Cronbach and McDonald) and validity (CFA), indicate that the level of competence is basic-intermediate. In addition, the area in which teachers excel is digital resources. For this reason, it is proposed to structure personalized training plans and continue expanding the characteristics of this study at an international level.

Modern societies are increasingly globalized, where information and communication technologies (ICTs) play a fundamental role in every aspect of daily life: from the social, family, labor, among others. Every day more people who without distinguishing age and gender are seen in the need and desire to have at least one technological device. Objective: To examine the impact of using ICTs in the family relations of the residents of Medellín city. Methodology: exploratory-descriptive research through a quantitative methodological design, a non-probabilistic sampling by criterion was made, where 77 people were selected. Data were collected through a questionnaire type survey with closed questions in a virtual way during 3 Months. Results: among the results, 73.4% of responders suggest that there is no adequate supervision of adults to guide children and adolescents to establish a critical position on these contents. On the other hand, the most valued resources are the mobile device and computer for the possibilities of communication between relatives that are far way and for being means to improve the educational and labor processes. Conclusion: studies around ICTs and their impacts have grown significantly, which it ratifies the importance of the topic. It is imperative that parents stop seeing ICTs as a distant entity, and try to be at the forefront of the uses of the same by children, to generate effective control in the training processes within the family.
