A mononuclear complex, [Ni(pydca)(dmpy)]·H2O, exhibits a slow magnetic relaxation under an applied magnetic field with manifold relaxation channels. With an external field of 0.6 T, the low-frequency channel is the dominating relaxation path yielding a relaxation time of 322 ms at 2.0 K. At 1.2 T the relaxation time is as slow as 876 ms.

A [Co(N3)2(mqu)] complex with a 1D chain architecture (mqu – 4-methylquinoline) shows slow magnetic relaxation with three distinct modes. The relaxation time strongly depends upon the applied external field. The low-frequency mode exhibits a relaxation time longer than one second: τLF = 1.6(2) s at BDC = 0.8 T and T = 1.9 K.

A mononuclear Ni(ii) complex [Ni(NCS)2(nqu)2(H2O)2]·2nqu (nqu – 5-nitroquinoline) shows a field induced slow magnetic relaxation with three relaxation domains. The relaxation time for the low-frequency mode is as slow as τ = 0.3 s at T = 1.9 K and BDC = 0.4 T.

The results of investigation of volumetric magnetostriction of a ferromagnetic composite consisting of silicon steel particles dispersed in an elastomer matrix and its relaxation are presented. The composite consisted of silicon steel particles of 0.15–0.20 mm in size, which were dispersed in a polymerized silicone. The filling factor of the composite by these particles amounted to 0.4, 0.6 or 0.8. The investigation was carried out by means of the pycnometric method in a magnetic field with the induction of 0–8 T produced by Bitter's magnet. It was found that according to the filling factor and the induction of the applied magnetic field, relative changes in the sample volume amounted to (0.37–112.8) × 10-4 and the relaxation time of the volumetric magnetostriction was 2.12–85.8 s.

The Method of Monte-Carlo calculated temperature of Berezinsky – Kosterlitz – Thouless transition in twodimensional superconductor 2nd type in the presence of an external magnetic field. It is shown that near the upper critical field filling cells with a size of ξ × ξ relation, where ξ – coherence length at a given temperature, corresponds to half. It is also shown that ТBKT decreases with increasing interaction between the vortices and antivortices and increase of the external applied magnetic field

A dinuclear [(H2O)Cu(HLN2O2)Eu(NO3)3] complex exhibits paramagnetic behaviour with S = 1/2 ground state. At low temperature it displays slow magnetic relaxation that is supported by a small external magnetic field.

One-pot reaction of the Schiff base N,N’-ethylene bis(salicylaldimine) (H2L), CoCl2.6H2O, and [Ph2SnCl2] in acetone produces the mixed valence CoIICoIII2 compound [CoIICoIII2(μ-L)2(Ph)2(μ-Cl)2]·(CH3)2CO·H2O (1). Our recent study already revealed that the same reaction mixtures in methanol or ethanol produced a heterometallic SnIVCoIII (2) or monometallic CoIII complex (3), respectively. Comparison of these organometallic systems shows that the 2,1-intermetallic Ph shift occurs in any of those solvents, but their relevant structural features (mononuclear, dinuclear-heterometallic, and trinuclear mixed valence) are solvent dependent. Geometrical structural rotation is also discussed among the related organometallic CoIICoIII2 systems. The AC magnetic susceptibility measurements indicate that 1 is a single molecule magnet (SMM), exhibiting a field-induced slow magnetic relaxation with two modes. The relaxation time for the low-frequency channel is as slow as τ~0.6 s at T = 2.0 K and BDC = 1.0 T.
