In this study, we fabricate photodetector device based on organic–inorganic hybrid (CH3NH3)2FeCuI4Cl2 (MA2FeCuI4Cl2) and (CH3NH3)2InCuI6 (MA2InCuI6) for the first time.

Abstract Ziegler catalysts have become of prime importance for synthesis of polymers with regular structure, particularly cis-polyisoprene. The disruption of the structure of the chain by the formation of trans units was, until now, connected only with the influence of the physical and chemical properties of the catalyst on the nature of the addition of the diene monomers during the polymerization process. In the present work it is shown that destruction of regularity of structure can be caused by isomerization of cis units in complete polymer chains into trans units under the influence of the compounds used for initiating the polymerization process. Attempts to isomerize natural rubber by means of ultraviolet light and iodine did not give the expected effect. Ferri established for the first time that under the influence of zinc chloride and titanium tetrachloride natural rubber undergoes changes accompanied by disappearence of crystallization on stretching as shown by x-ray structure analysis. On the basis of these results the authors presumed that under the influence of these agents isomerization of cis units to trans units occurs in the natural rubber chain. The isomerization of cis-1,4 units to trans units in polybutadiene by means of ultraviolet light in the presence of organic bromine or sulfur compounds was first accomplished and proved by Golub. The formation of trans units in natural rubber under similar conditions was not observed. The study of the isomerizing effect of TiCl4 and organo-aluminum compounds was conducted by us on solutions of milled natural rubber (NK) in benzene in sealed glass ampoules. The benzene used was dried and distilled over sodium. All work was conducted in an atmosphere of dry argon. Unsaturation and microstructure of the chain was determined on each sample. The study of microstructure of polyisoprenes was carried out by means of infrared spectra, the relative content of the different configurations of the polymer chain being determined by the absorption in the 800–1000 cm−1 region. The method previously developed by one of us was used for this purpose.

The photoionization and dissociative photoionization of toluene have been studied using synchrotron radiation vacuum ultraviolet light with photon energy in the range of 8.50–25.50 eV. The ionization energies (8.82 eV) and double ionization energies (23.80 eV) of toluene as well as the appearance energies for its major fragments C7H7+ (11.17/10.71 eV), C6H5+ (13.73 eV), C5H6+ (13.58/12.50 eV), C5H5+ (16.23 eV), C4H5+ (15.64 eV), C4H4+ (16.10 eV) and C4H3+ (17.11 eV) are determined, respectively by using photoionization efficiency spectrometry. With the help of experimental and theoretical results, seven dissociative photoionization channels have been proposed: C7H7+ + H, C6H5+ + CH3, C5H6+ + C2H2, C5H5+ + C2H2 + H, C4H5+ + C3H3, C4H4+ + C3H4 and C4H3+ + C3H4 + H. In addition, the geometries of the intermediates, transition states and products involved in these photoionization and dissociative photoionization processes have been performed at the B3LYP/6-311++G(d, p) level. The mechanisms of dissociative photoionization of toluene and the intermediates and transition states involved are discussed in detail. Generally speaking, the experimental results are in agreement with theoretical calculations in this work and published literature results. Especially the mechanisms of dissociative photoionization to C4H5+, C4H4+ and C4H3+ were discussed for the first time in this work. This investigation may provide useful information on understanding the photoionization and dissociative photoionization of toluene.

Although perovskite solar cells have achieved the highest 25.2% efficiency, they suffer from poor stability because the organic–inorganic hybrid perovskites are easily decomposed under the attacks of oxygen, moisture, heat and ultraviolet light.

Two kinds of POSS-based organic–inorganic hybrid porous materials have been synthesized via Friedel–Crafts and Scholl coupling reactions, for the first time, using low-cost building blocks i.e., octaphenylsilsesquioxanes and simple knitting approaches to obtain high Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) surface area porous polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS)-based hybrid materials.

The crystallographic signatures and characterization of two novel mixed metal hybrid open-frameworks [Na2Mn2(C2O4)(SO3)2(H2O)2], 1 and [NaEu(C2O4)(SO3)(H2O)3], 2 are reported for the first time; they are synthesized under hydrothermal conditions to generate 3D assemblies and honeycomb-like structures.

Titanium oxo clusters (TOCs) anchored with photoactive triphenylamine dyes are reported for the first time. They are unusual TOCs modified with real applied dyes. Using these TPA dye pre-anchored TOCs as organic–inorganic hybrid dyes has advantages for DSSC applications.
