This paper covers the results of development of corrosion resistant ash alkali-activated cements based on regulation of phase composition of the hydration products through changing the alkali content, content of calciumcontaining cement constituents resulting in the increase strength and density of the cement stone. The results of study suggested to conclude that the cement compositions with predominance in the hydration products of weakly soluble low basic hydrosilicates of calcium, hydrogarnets and minerals similar to natural hydroaluminates exhibited the highest corrosion resistance. The results of comparison suggested to draw a conclusion that the alkali-activated cements Types APC III-400 and ACC V-400, according to National Ukrainian Standard DSTU B V.2.7, had high corrosion resistance compared to that of OPC, thus allowing to recommend the developed cements for the concretes intended for use in aggressive environments, inclusive of sodium and magnesium sulphates and others. Coefficients of corrosion resistance of concretes are higher than 1 after even 42 months.

The sputter-deposited amorphous W-32Zr alloy was passivated spontaneously and showed a fairly high corrosion resistance in 12 M HCl solution in open air at 30°C. The average corrosion rate of the W-32Zr alloy (i.e., 5.2 × 10-3 mm/y) was found to be lower than those of alloy-constituting tungsten and zirconium elements. Such synergistic effects of simultaneous addition of tungsten and zirconium in the W–32Zr alloy was investigated by corrosion tests, electrochemical measurements and angle resolved X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic (ARXPS) analyses. High corrosion resistance of the binary W–32Zr alloy is mostly due to the formation of homogeneous passive oxyhydroxide film consisting of Wox and Zr4+ cations with a small concentration gradient in–depth from ARXPS analysis. Consequently, zirconium metal acts synergistically with tungsten in enhancing the anodic passivity as well as the corrosion resistance properties of the sputter–deposited W–32Zr alloy in 12 M HCl solution open to air at 30°C. Fabrication of TiO2 nanotubes (NTs) has extensive application properties due to their high corrosion resistant and compatibility with biomedical applications, the synthesis of TiO2 nanotubes over titanium has drawn interest in various fields. The synthesis of TiO2 NTs using novel in-situ step-up voltage conditions in the electrochemical anodization process is recorded in this work. For manufacturing the NTs at 1 hour of anodization, the input potential of 30, 40 and 50 V was selected. With increasing step-up voltage during the anodization process, an improvement in the NTs was observed, favoring corrosion resistance properties. The surface of NTs enhances the structure of the ribs, raising the potential for feedback over time. XRD was used to analyze phase changes, and HR-SEM analyzed surface topography. Impedance tests found that longer NTs improved the corrosion resistance.
