With the continuous construction of urban water supply infrastructure, it is extremely urgent to change the management mode of water supply from traditional manual experience to modern and efficient means. The water consumption forecast is the premise of water supply scheduling, and its accuracy also directly affects the effectiveness of water supply scheduling. This paper analyzes the regularity of water consumption time series, establishes a short-term water consumption prediction model based on Bayesian regularized NAR neural network, and compares and evaluates the prediction effect of the model. The verification results show that the Bayesian based NAR neural network prediction model has higher adaptability to the water consumption prediction than the standard BP neural network and the Bayesian regularized BP neural network. The prediction accuracy can more accurately reflect the short-term variation of water consumption.

As the typical particle-reinforced aluminum matrix composite, SiCp/Al composite has low density, high elastic modulus and high thermal conductivity, and is one of the most competitive metal matrix composites. Grinding is the main processing technique of SiCp/Al composite, energy consumption of the grinding process provides guidance for the energy saving, which is the aim of green manufacturing. In this paper, grinding experiments were designed and conducted to obtain the energy consumption of the grinding machine tool. The Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) BP neural network prediction model was applied in the energy consumption prediction model of SiCp/Al composite in grinding. It showed that the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) BP neural network prediction model has high prediction accuracy. The prediction model of energy consumption based on PSO-BP neural network is helpful in energy saving, which contributes to greening manufacturing.

Background: Moisture content is one of the most important indicators for the quality of fresh strawberries. Currently, several methods are usually employed to detect the moisture content in strawberry. However, these methods are relatively simple and can only be used to detect the moisture content of single samples but not batches of samples. Besides, the integrity of the samples may be destroyed. Therefore, it is important to develop a simple and efficient prediction method for strawberry moisture to facilitate the market circulation of strawberry. Objective: This study aims to establish a novel BP neural network prediction model to predict and analyze strawberry moisture. Methods: Toyonoka and Jingyao strawberries were taken as the research objects. The hyperspectral technology, spectral difference analysis, correlation coefficient method, principal component analysis and artificial neural network technology were combined to predict the moisture content of strawberry. Results: The characteristic wavelengths were highly correlated with the strawberry moisture content. The stability and prediction effect of the BP neural network prediction model based on characteristic wavelengths are superior to those of the prediction model based on principal components, and the correlation coefficients of the calibration set for Toyonaka and Jingyao respectively reached up to 0.9532 and 0.9846 with low levels of standard deviations (0.3204 and 0.3010, respectively). Conclusion: The BP neural network prediction model of strawberry moisture has certain practicability and can provide some reference for the on-line and non-destructive detection of fruits and vegetables.

The integration between photovoltaic systems and tradition grid have a lot of challenges. To accurately predict is a key to solve these challenges. Due to complex, non-linear and non-stationary characteristics, it is difficult to accurately predict the power of photovoltaic systems. In this paper, a short-term prediction model based on empirical mode decomposition (EMD)and back propagation neural network(BPNN) was constructed, and use genetic algorithm as the learn algorithm of BPNN. The power data after pre-processing is decomposed into several components, then using prediction model based on BPNN and genetic algorithm to predict each component, and all the component prediction values were aggregated to obtain the ultimate predicted result. The simulation shows the purposed prediction model has higher prediction precision compare with traditional neural network prediction method and it is an effective prediction method of photovoltaic systems.

On the basis of orthogonal test analysis of variance, BP neural network is used to forecast quantitatively the stamping spring-back of front panel of a car body, namely the engine hood, under the conditions of different stamping parameters. Firstly, BP neural network prediction model is established and sample training is done in Matlab. Then, the spring-back prediction using BP neural network and the result of spring-back simulation using Dynaform is compared to verify the precision and stability of the prediction model. Lastly, modification is made to the BP neural network according to practical stamping parameters and an efficient BP neural network model is established. Using this model, stamping spring-back prediction for the front panel of a car body is made. The spring-back prediction could then be used for spring-back compensation in the mould design of the front panel.

Wind power short-term forcasting of BP neural network based on the small-world optimization is proposed. First, the initial data collected from wind farm are revised, and the unreasonable data are found out and revised. Second, the small-world optimization BP neural network model is proposed, and the model is used on the prediction method of wind speed and wind direction, and the prediction method of power. Finally, by simulation analysis, the NMAE and NRMSE of the power method are smaller than those of the wind speed and wind direction method when the wind power data of one hour later are predicted. When the power method are used to forecast the data one hour later, NMAE is 5.39% and NRMSE is 6.98%.
