This article is devoted to structural scrutiny of a building. The technical condition of buildings affects such characteristics of a building as safety, reliability, durability and maintainability. However, in the absence of reliable information on the technical condition of buildings, structural survey or monitoring of а building in order to determine the category of technical condition is necessary. The purpose of this work is to develop an economic and mathematical model for determining the type of maintenance work based on the results of structural scrutiny and monitoring of a building. The article is of importance because the final stage of the survey gives a qualified opinion on the level of structural scrutiny of a building, and on the basis of this opinion repair work eliminating physical and moral deterioration and providing in accordance with specifications renovation of the building are planned. The scientific novelty of the economic and mathematical model developed by the authors on the results of building structural scrutiny lies in the application of the fuzzy set theory and fuzzy logic method for determining of the level of physical and moral deterioration of a building consistent with a certain type of repair work and followed by the necessary capital investments.

Reliability is one of the important aspects in product quality that shows efficiency or operation of the product, failure rate, and confidence. When the efficiency of the product is reduced below a desired level, the product is said to have failure. In real world, data collection or access of detailed features of the system is often difficult because of incomplete or unavailable information and probabilistic approach to the conventional reliability analysis. Therefore, to solve this problem, fuzzy set theory is used to evaluate system reliability. This research studies the literature on the reliability of fuzzy systems. Several studies have shown that fuzzy logic method can be more appropriate in comparison with classical methods and mathematical modeling.

Fuzzy set theory and fuzzy logic are a highly suitable and applicable basis for developing knowledge-based systems in physical education for tasks such as the selection for athletes, the evaluation for different training approaches, the team ranking, and the real-time monitoring of sports data. In this paper, we use fuzzy set theory and apply fuzzy clustering analysis in football team ranking. Based on some certain rules, we propose four parameters to calculate fuzzy similar matrix, obtain fuzzy equivalence matrix and the ranking result for our numerical example,T7,T3,T1,T9,T10,T8,T11,T12,T2,T6,T5,T4, and investigate four parameters sensitivity analysis. The study shows that our fuzzy logic method is reliable and stable when the parameters change in certain range.

Metapopulation theory considers that the populations of many species are fragmented into patches connected by the migration of individuals through an interterritorial matrix. We applied fuzzy set theory and environmental favorability (F) functions to reveal the metapopulational structure of the 222 butterfly species in the Iberian Peninsula. We used the sets of contiguous grid cells with high favorability (F ≥ 0.8), to identify the favorable patches for each species. We superimposed the known occurrence data to reveal the occupied and empty favorable patches, as unoccupied patches are functional in a metapopulation dynamics analysis. We analyzed the connectivity between patches of each metapopulation by focusing on the territory of intermediate and low favorability for the species (F < 0.8). The friction that each cell opposes to the passage of individuals was computed as 1-F. We used the r.cost function of QGIS to calculate the cost of reaching each cell from a favorable patch. The inverse of the cost was computed as connectivity. Only 126 species can be considered to have a metapopulation structure. These metapopulation structures are part of the dark biodiversity of butterflies because their identification is not evident from the observation of the occurrence data but was revealed using favorability functions.

A methodology has been developed for assessing public transport passenger traffic in the city. A mathematical model based on fuzzy logic is presented. The main criteria for assessing the attractiveness of passenger traffic are: the interval between vehicles, technical condition of the vehicle, route length, time of day. In the mathematical model, all input linguistic variables and output variable, their terms and membership functions are described. A fragment of a fuzzy knowledge base presented in the form of production rules is presented. At the exit, the dispatcher receives an output variable – the degree of confidence in the attractiveness of the route. Based on this assessment, the dispatcher can make a number of necessary changes to improve the functioning of the route. The software is implemented as a web service. This software will be convenient for dispatchers to use for planning public transport routes. Fifteen selected routes were taken for research, which are the most popular in the city. These routes were proposed for evaluation by three controllers. The results obtained from dispatchers were compared with the results of the fuzzy inference implemented in the software. The main advantage of using this software product is the ability to build a dynamic schedule based on the analysis of the dispatcher. This, in turn, will allow passengers to receive a better transportation service within the city

Fuzzy set theory and fuzzy logic have been successfully developed in engineering and mathematics. However, these concepts have found great acceptance in social sciences in recent years since they provide an answer to those problems in the real world that cannot be modeled using classical mathematics. In this paper, we propose a new methodology for accounting science based on fuzzy triangular numbers. The methodology uses Hamming distance between fuzzy triangular numbers and arithmetic operations to evaluate corporate governance of multinational public stock corporations (PSCs) in the telecommunications sector.

The paper presents a method for determining the global sensitivity indices of the vibrostability limit to the change of mass-damping-spring parameters in machine tool models. The non-stationary character of the models is handled by the analysis of variants. The global sensitivity indices are calculated on the basis of the frequency of variant appearance and the vibrostability limit that corresponds to each variant. To compute the global sensitivity indices fuzzy set theory is applied.
