Objective: We assessed the delay times in the interaction between the autonomic regulatory loop of Heart Rate Variability (HRV) and autonomic regulatory loop of photoplethysmographic waveform variability (PPGV), showing low-frequency oscillations. Material and Methods: In eight healthy subjects aged 25–30 years (3 male, 5 female), we studied at rest (in a supine position) the simultaneously recorded two-hour signals of RR intervals (RRIs) chain and finger photoplethysmogram (PPG). To extract the low-frequency components of RRIs and PPG signal, associated with the low-frequency oscillations in HRV and PPGV with a frequency of about 0.1 Hz, we filtered RRIs and PPG with a bandpass 0.05-0.15 Hz filter. We used a method for the detection of coupling between oscillatory systems, based on the construction of predictive models of instantaneous phase dynamics, for the estimation of delay times in the interaction between the studied regulatory loops. Results: Averaged value of delay time in coupling from the regulatory loop of HRV to the loop of PPGV was 0.9±0.4 seconds (mean ± standard error of the means) and averaged value of delay time in coupling from PPGV to HRV was 4.1±1.1 seconds. Conclusion: Analysis of two-hour experimental time series of healthy subjects revealed the presence of delay times in the interaction between regulatory loops of HRV and PPGV. Estimated delay time in coupling regulatory loops from HRV to PPGV was about one second or even less, while the delay time in coupling from PPGV to HRV was about several seconds. The difference in delay times is explained by the fact that PPGV to HRV response is mediated through the autonomic nervous system (baroreflex), while the HRV to PPGV response is mediated mechanically via cardiac output.

Acetaminophen (APAP) can cause erroneously high readings in real-time continuous glucose monitoring (rtCGM) systems. APAP-associated bias in an investigational rtCGM system (G6) was evaluated by taking the difference in glucose measurements between rtCGM and YSI from 1 hour before to 6 hours after a 1-g oral APAP dose in 66 subjects with type 1 or type 2 diabetes. The interference effect was defined as the average post-dose (30-90 minutes) bias minus the average baseline bias for each subject. The clinically meaningful interference effect was defined as 10 mg/dL. The G6 system’s overall mean (±SD) interference effect was 3.1 ± 4.8 mg/dL (one-sided upper 95% CI = 4.1 mg/dL), significantly lower than 10 mg/dL. The G6 system’s resistance to APAP interference should provide reassurance to those using the drug.

The study presented in this paper is intended to show how to calculate the average delay time of a scattering within the framework of the delay time operator Q in order to prove that the average delay time is independent from the phase of the initial state. This conclusion differs from Ohmura's assertion in a recent paper that in the three-dimensional scattering, the average delay time depends on the phase change of the initial state. Our result saves the hope that the delay time of a collision can be known in terms of the S matrix alone. The reason for the difference between our result and Ohmura's is also discussed. We also investigate the commutation of the Q and S matrices and search for the interesting consequences of this commutation.

This study aims at investigating the difference between attitude towards the construction of quality monitoring system on linguistic landscape of Chinese tourism, and the current situation on regional special linguistic landscape program. By analyzing the degree of participation in serving for improvement the quality of local linguistic landscape, this survey carries out quantitative analysis of attitude research on constructing the benchmark indicators, program management, process control and quality evaluation; explores a sustainable development mode on linguistic landscape assessment for national tourism; promotes the formulation, implementation and promotion of the quality monitoring system on linguistic landscape tourism from 520 feedbacks of respondents. And the objectives of this research were to 1) to investigate the attitudes towards social influence and implementation of series of Standards and Guidance for English Translation and Usage in Public Service(2017-2019); 2) to study the factors that influence different attitudes and opinions; 3) to explore quality evaluation system of linguistic landscape, and promote linguistic landscape evaluation indicators and modes. The conclusion is that the governments should construct the common understanding of program mode and collaborative development on quality monitoring system.

The webcams are installed on students’ LCD monitors to take, via an ordinary video processing program, the half-length pictures of students in a real-time manner whenever they are distracted from the class or not in their seats. Result shows that the grades of the students in the experiment group become less scattered. This means the difference among students’ grades have been reduced and students’ overall grades have also been improved.

This paper aims to modification the transducer ultrasonic for measuring the distance to develop measure time of flight in the pipe with simultaneous method. To implement the application, we try to develop the microcontroller with one command transmitter and one command receiver in the same time, different from the conventional way, the transmitter and receiver work with consecutively. We try to reduce the delay time in two different transducers. In industrial, the symmetries profile must be ensured the profile always laminar. In this research, we try to use one path configuration. The result with the reference hot wire, we got the 27.76 percentage the difference of result. This is because the hot wire can measure the one path of flow in the one way of dot point.

In the field of biomedicine, time irreversibility is used to describe how imbalanced and asymmetric biological signals are. As an important feature of signals, the direction of time is always ignored. To find out the variation regularity of time irreversibility of heart rate variability (HRV) in the initial stage of hypoxic exposure, the present study implemented 2 h acute normobaric hypoxic exposure on six young subjects who have no plateau or hypoxia experiences; oxygen concentration was set as 12.9%. Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals were recorded in the whole process and RR interval sequences were extracted. Mathematical operations were executed to transform the difference of adjacent RR intervals into proportion and distance with delay time to conduct time irreversibility analysis of HRV. The same calculating method was implemented on six items randomly picked out from the MIT-BIH normal sinus rhythm database as a control group. Results show that variation of time irreversibility of HRV in a hypoxic environment is different from that in a normoxic environment, time irreversibility indices of a hypoxic group decreases continually at a delay time of 1 and 2, and indices curves of time irreversibility gradually tend to be steady and gather with each other at a delay time of 3 or 4. The control group shows no consistent tendency no matter what the delay time is in the range of 1–4. Our study indicates that in short-time hypoxic exposure, as hypoxic time goes by, regulation of the cardiovascular autonomic nervous system weakens; regulation times and intensity of sympathetic and parasympathetic nerves tend to be equal.

This study investigated the effects of H2 and CH4 concentrations on the ignition delay time and laminar flame speed during the combustion of CH4/H2 and multicomponent syngas mixtures using a novel constructed reduced syngas chemical kinetics mechanism. The results were compared with experiments and GRI Mech 3.0 mechanism. It was found that mixture reactivity decreases and increases when higher concentrations of CH4 and H2 were used, respectively. With higher H2 concentration in the mixture, the formation of OH is faster, leading to higher laminar flame speed and shorter ignition delay time. CH4 and H2 concentrations were calculated at different pressures and equivalence ratios, showing that at high pressures CH4 is consumed slower, and, at different equivalence ratios CH4 reacts at different temperatures. In the presence of H2, CH4 was consumed faster. In the conducted two-stage sensitivity analysis, the first analysis showed that H2/CH4/CO mixture combustion is driven by H2-based reactions related to the consumption/formation of OH and CH4 recombination reactions are responsible for CH4 oxidation. The second analysis showed that similar CH4-based and H2 -based reactions were sensitive in both, methane- and hydrogen-rich H2/CH4 mixtures. The difference was observed for reactions CH2O + OH = HCO + H2O and CH4 + HO2 = CH3 + H2O2, which were found to be important for CH4-rich mixtures, while reactions OH + HO2 = H2O + O2 and HO2 + H = OH + OH were found to be important for H2-rich mixtures.
