Abstract We appraise a waveguide-integrated plasmonic graphene photodetector based on the hot carrier photo-bolometric effect, with performance characterized simultaneously by high responsivity, on the scale of hundreds of A/W, and high speed on the scale of 100’s of GHz. Performance evaluation is based on a theory of bolometric effect originating from the band nonparabolicity of graphene. Results compare favorably with the state-of-the-art plasmonic bolometric photodetectors, predicting up to two orders of magnitude increase in a responsivity while keeping speed on the same level, defined by the electron-lattice scattering time in graphene.

AbstractResults of optical-luminescence studies of polydoped photochromic CdBr2: AgCl,PbBr2 crystals are presented. It is shown that the luminescence decrease vs. time under N2-laser excitation in the range of A-band of Pb2+ absorption is due to photochemical reactions. The empirical model describing the decrease of the luminescence related to silver impurities due to photochemical processes is suggested. Model parameters (trapping cross-section — σ — and the amount of centres destroyed by irradiation — β) were determined using the comparative analysis of experimental and calculated luminescence decay curves.

Pore closure behavior in sintered Al-4Fe3C and Al-4Fe3C-2Cu composite preforms were studied under cold and hot deformation conditions. Preforms of 0.2 aspect ratios with 85±1% initial density were prepared through compaction operation using 1 MN hydraulic press. For hot deformation, directly as sintered preforms are subjected to swaging operation to different strain rate. Preforms that are allowed to cool it to room temperature within the furnace after sintering process are subjected to cold upsetting till visible cracks appear on diametrical surface. The comparative analysis on pore closure against stress, strain, Poisson’s ratio and the stress formability index are performed.
