In 1988, an incomplete skeleton of a stegosaurian dinosaur was found in Lower Cretaceous strata of the Ordos Basin of China by the Dinosaur Project (China – Canada – Alberta – Ex Terra). The material includes an articulated series of vertebrae from the last three cervicals to the first five caudals, and the right ilium. The specimen is identified as a new species called Wuerhosaurus ordosensis. It is the only Lower Cretaceous stegosaur known with an articulated series of dorsal vertebrae, which have been reduced to eleven in number.

A new genus with a new species of Chresmodidae (Insecta: Gryllones), Sinochresmoda magnicornia gen. et sp. nov., including specimens of male, female and nymph, is described and illustrated. These fossils were collected from the Upper Jurassic-Lower Cretaceous of Yixian Formation of Liutiaogou Village, Inner Mongolia (Nei Mongol Autonomous Region), China. Both male and female possess wings, and have sexual dimorphism in antenna. Antennae of male are highly specialized and horn-shaped, incurvated as horn with the scape strongly expanded, and the first segment of the flagella incurvated as a pair of brackets, while antennae of female are normally filiform. Wings of the new species are short, not exceeding the length of the abdomen. Fringe hairs along the wing margins, a unique feature for Chresmodidae, are dense, wavy and bundled together. Nymphs and adults probably lived in the same environment. In addition, one specimen demonstrates the extraordinary structure of tarsus with a high number of “tarsomeres”, which has been reported in other species of this family.

Abstract A new species of micromorphic articulate brachiopod (Rhynchonellida) Lambdarina jugowiensis sp. nov., from the upper Visean (Sokolec Beds) of central Sudetes, SW Poland, is described. The studied specimens are calcified, what makes them unique in respect of their state of preservation. The material is represented by a full range of growth stages; from brephic to gerontic. Based on its morphological features and the palaeogeographical distribution of all its known species, two main evolutionary lines are proposed for the genus; the Australian and the European ones. Lambdarina was widely distributed in the equatorial-tropical waters of marginal seas of the Palaeotethys Ocean, mostly during Mississippian time.

Two species of Jurodidae: Jurodes ignoramus and Jurodes minor are redescribed, new characters presented, and characters from original descriptions are phylogenetically reevaluated, justifying a placement of the family within the suborder Archostemata. The new species Jurodes shef sp. nov. from the Lower Cretaceous locality Khasurty (Berriasian-Barremian, Zakamenskiy district, Buryatia Republic, Russia) is described and 2 new specimens of J. ignoramus Ponomarenko, 1985 and 5 additional specimens of J. minor Ponomarenko, 1990 are recorded. Jurodids from Khasurty are morphologically closer to those from Daohugou locality (Middle–Upper Jurassic, Inner Mongolia, China).

In May 2020, a new taxon of Euphorbia, Euphorbiaceae was collected from a dry hillside of Dongsheng District, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia. The morphological characteristics of the specimens analyzed differ from those of the known Euphorbia species from this region; therefore, we suspected this may be a new species, and we set to analyze the ITS2 sequences of some Euphorbia species. The results show that the new taxon belongs to the sect. Esula of Euphorbia subg. Esula. It is similar to Euphorbia esula (description from Flora of China) but does not belong to the same species. Concomitantly, plant morphological data and pollen morphology results show significant differences between the new taxon, E. esula and E. caesia, a finding that supports the delimitation of this new taxon, which is named Euphorbia mongoliensis in accordance with its geographical distribution.
