Nothing great in the world has ever been accomplished without passion. Passion is the strong emotion with inherent behavioural tendencies that can be positive as long as reason underlies the behaviour and this can be either harmonious or obsessive in nature. Thus, this view of passion suggests that adaptive benefits will accrue when individuals are in control of their passion (i.e. Harmonious passion). Moreover Self-compassion is found to elicit increased desirable and productive intrinsic motivation and helps individual perceive any activity as enjoyable or engaging. Thus, the present study adds on as a stepping stone which aims at studying the mediating role of Self-compassion in the relationship between Intrinsic motivation and Harmonious passion by incorporating Correlational research design and maximum variation sampling method (type of purposive sampling) in drawing 120 samples of working emerging adults (experience 0 – 3 years). Standardized tools; Global motivation scale (Guay et. al 2003), Self-compassion scale (Raes et. al 2010), Passion scale (Vallerand et. al. 2003) were used. Statistical measures Mean, S.D, Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation and Meditational analysis was used in assessing the data and obtaining the results. And the findings showed that there was a direct effect of 0.192 between Intrinsic Motivation and Harmonious Passion and indirect effect of 0.2793 between the same in presence of the mediating variable Self-Compassion. Thus, it can be concluded that self-Compassion mediates the relationship between Intrinsic Motivation and Harmonious Passion. Self-Compassion training during the initial period of work or even further will help individuals to develop and experience Harmonious Passion attributing to various positive aspects of individual’s life.

Consumers care about healthy food. Thus, several firms use organic appeals advertising to change consumer attitudes and persuade them to purchase organic food. Organic appeals advertisement often presents content that provides information and knowledge about organic elements of a food product (e.g., health, safety, a lack of chemicals, and rich nutrition). In contrast, non-organic appeals advertisement does not present information about organic elements of a food product. This study aims to clarify the effect of organic appeals advertisement on consumer motivations and behavior. It uses the stimuli-organism-response model and self-determination motivation theory to investigate the relationship between organic appeals advertisement and purchase intention toward organic milk considering the mediating role of intrinsic motivation and the moderating role of emotional appeals. Two experimental designs are used to test the hypotheses. Results show that consumers receiving organic appeals advertisement have a higher intention to purchase organic milk than those receiving non-organic appeals advertisement. Furthermore, intrinsic motivation is found to have a mediating role in the link between organic appeals advertisement and purchase intention. In other words, when consumers receive advertisements of an organic milk product, they have higher intrinsic motivation and hold higher intention to purchase organic milk products. Furthermore, emotional appeals have a moderating effect on the relationship between organic appeals advertisement and intrinsic motivation. The influence of organic appeals advertisement on intrinsic motivation is stronger when emotional appeals are positive and weaker when emotional appeals are negative.

Although previous researchers have paid significant attention to the effect of feedback on employee behavioral outcomes, few have specifically examined the influence of developmental feedback on employee job performance. In this study we examined the influences of intrinsic motivation and social exchange on the relationship between developmental feedback and job performance. Participants were 202 supervisor-subordinate dyads from 12 enterprises in China. We found that developmental feedback had a significant positive effect on both intrinsic motivation and job performance. In addition, intrinsic motivation had a significant positive relationship with job performance but it also had a partial mediating effect on the relationship between developmental feedback and job performance. Managerial implications and directions for further research are discussed.

Purpose In line with the general purpose mentioned, this paper aims to determine the impact of the Islamic work ethic (IWE) on job satisfaction and organizational commitment among the employees of Bank Maskan by examining the mediating role of intrinsic motivation. Design/methodology/approach Analysis of data obtained from 220 questionnaires related to research variables with AMOS software shows a positive and significant relationship between IWE and job satisfaction and organizational commitment with the mediating role of intrinsic motivation. Findings The findings revealed a direct effect of IWE on job satisfaction, but there was no direct significant relationship between this variable and organizational commitment. Also, intrinsic motivation plays a partial and completely mediatory role in the relationship between IWE and job satisfaction and between IWE and organizational commitment. Research limitations/implications The impact of participation in strategic planning on managers’ creation of budgetary slack: The mediating role of autonomous motivation and affective organizational commitment. Originality/value As the nature of bank employees’ work is such that it confronts them with numerous ethical choices, the adherence to ethical standards, particularly IWE, can greatly affect their enthusiasm and, as a result, their satisfaction and organizational commitment.

Stimulating and improving the creativity of employees are both theoretically and practically important. The relationship between prosocial motivation and creativity has gradually gained attention in recent years; however, in the context of controlling for intrinsic motivation, the influence process and results between the two are not yet clear. Based on the motivated information processing model, componential theory of creativity, and regulatory focus theory, this study analyzed the mediating role of knowledge sharing and the moderating role of regulatory focus in the relationship between prosocial motivation and the creativity of employees. For this, we used the PROCESS program and the bootstrap method to test the theoretical hypotheses. Consequently, a survey of 320 Chinese employees revealed that, under the condition of controlling for intrinsic motivation, the prosocial motivation of employees was positively related to creativity and partially mediated by knowledge sharing. Furthermore, regulatory focus negatively moderated the correlation between prosocial motivation and knowledge sharing. Specifically, we found that the higher the prevention focus was, the weaker the effect prosocial motivation had on knowledge sharing. Contrary to the hypothesis, promotion focus also played a negative moderating role. Thus, the results revealed the mechanism and boundary conditions of prosocial motivation on creativity. This study expands the research on prosocial motivation and provides guidance on how managers can enhance the creativity of their employees.
