The use of technology-based media increases students’ motivation and learning effectivity in the classroom. This research aims to develop, to examine the appropriateness and the effectivity of flash-based media at Senior High School. This development research uses the ADDIE model. Based on the research result, the score of validity trials from the material expert is 72, the score from the media expert is 58 and from the practitioner expert is 75. The assessment from the material, media and practitioner expert show that flash-based media is in the appropriate category. Effectiveness test of the flash-based media development is through the testing of hypothesis, the data shows that for both experimental and controlled class in pre-test and post-test, the score is Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 < 0.05, and the score of the students’ motivation in learning for pre-test and post-test in both experimental and controlled is Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 < 0.05. It means that the flash-based media increases students’ motivation and achievement in the learning process. This research result supports the theories of technology learning, especially for the development of learning aids and media for English subject.

Project-based learning is a way of working which is gaining ground in Swedish schools. The Swedish Government has recently decreed that senior high school students must carry out a fairly extensive piece of research in the form of a project. The project has to be finished in one and a half years from preparatory planning to final presentation. Working with projects has now more clearly made the School Library in Sweden into an educational resource. In our seminar we will give you some idea of how project-based learning is being practised as teamwork between librarians, students and teachers in two Swedish senior high school libraries. We show how we guide teachers and students in our libraries, now well equipped with traditional media as well as modern technology. We will also point out specific problems that we meet and draw attention to new thinking about learning in modern society.

Curriculum 2013 has been implemented in targeted schools in order to improve the quality of education in Indonesia, starting from elementary school to high school level. However, in implementation, until now there has no teaching materials of physics subjects that can be used as a guide learning in school, especially to apply scientific approach. Therefore, in order to improve the quality of education in secondary schools in Padang, in general, this study aims to improve the quality of education, especially in senior high school physics in Padang. Specifically targets to be achieved through this research is to develop teaching materials based on scientific approach in an effort to improve students' thinking skills and understanding of the concepts of high school physics for implemented of curriculum 2013. In practice, research began identifying problems in school, then design an scientific approach based teaching materials. To test validity of scientific approach is based teaching materials then conducted of development research (R & D, four D models ) with the defining phases are define, design, development , and disseminate. Based on the results of the validation of teaching materials created, generally result is good categorize. So that the teaching material has been designed can be used in senior high school.

Energy literacy is a key factor in ensuring the protection of the natural environment. Numerous studies on energy literacy have demonstrated the development of instructional methods to promote the willingness to save energy as a critical research subject. Through a project-based activity, this research explored how hands-on activities improve the energy literacy of students. A quasi-experimental design was adopted, namely a pre-test and post-test nonequivalent control group design. In total, 77 senior high school students participated in a 6-week teaching experiment. A single-factor analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) and multiple regression analyses were employed to analyze the collected data. The main findings were as follows: (1) Project-based hands-on activities helped improve the energy literacy of senior high school students; however, the effect was not statistically significant in both experimental and control groups. (2) The key factor influencing the energy conservation behavior of senior high school students was energy-related attitudes following the project-based learning process. Keywords: Energy literacy, project-based activity, senior high school students, solar-powered insect trap.
