Abstract As the most important and dangerous front-end production link, coal mining operations will inevitably face geological disasters such as water inrush, rock burst, collapse, and fire, posing a great threat to the life and safety of miners. Among the five major geological disasters (gas, dust, water, fire, roof) in coal mines, the threat of flooding is very serious and it is one of the main disasters in coal mines. The research and development of dual-frequency excitation technology and its application in coal mine exploration have realized the elimination of potential safety hazards, improved the work efficiency and safety factor of prospectors, and realized the automated operation of the exploration process. This article explores the electric field of the intelligent algorithm’s focused dual-frequency induced polarization method in coal mine electrical exploration, and summarizes some of the advantages of the intelligent algorithm’s focused dual-frequency induced polarization method in coal mine surveying on related materials, and then conducts related experiment, through the experiment of focusing on the dual-frequency IP method in the coal mine survey, obtained the result, in the abnormal point detection experiment, the change trend of the two curves is the same, the increase is more obvious at 1.3-1.5m, and at 1.5m When reaching the limit value, when it exceeds 1.5m, it starts to fall. It shows that when there is a water-bearing anomalous body directly in front of the tunneling section, the measurement results of the two survey lines are roughly the same. Compared with the no anomaly body, the apparent resistivity and the apparent amplitude frequency both change significantly, and reach the extreme in a certain direction. However, the actual anomalous body is located 1.0m directly in front of the tunneling section, which means that the actual position of the anomaly cannot be determined based on the apparent resistivity and the extreme point position of the apparent amplitude frequency.

In coal mines one of the most serious safety problems are endogenous fires. Given the specific mining conditions a number of self-heating and spontaneous combustion occurs in coal mining. These activities have a negative effect on the organization of mining operations and require a variety of interventions for their disposal and are a considerable economic burden. At the same time in case of suitable conditions threaten of their transition in the explosion exists. For the application of appropriate measures it is necessary to know the size of the risk of endogenous fires in the coal mine. The paper therefore describes a methodology for risk analysis of endogenous fire in a coal mine, taking into account all relevant factors of production.

Relatively few investigations have employed electrical methods in the submarine environment, which may be promising for mineral deposits or threatened by environmental problems. We have measured the electric field using both disk and bar electrodes in the sea water at three different levels: sea surface, seven meters deep, and sea bottom at a depth of ten meters, employing a 2 m spacing dipole-dipole array with 7 array spacings of investigation, and 13 values of frequencies at steps of (2N hertz, N = -2, -1, 0, 1, 2,.....10). The measurement allowed the analysis of the electric field as a function of frequency and spacing, and of the spectral induced polarization. Modelling and interpretation of the apparent resistivity yielded a good fit with previous drilling data. Analysis of the spectrum of the complex apparent resistivity and the comparison with equivalent circuits, provided information about the grain size, the mineral composition and the major induced polarization phenomenon occurring below the sea. Therefore the result of the present research show the feasibility of measuring the variation of seawater resistivity in situ, as well as the resistivity of sea bottom sediments.

Over the course of history, the development of human societies implied the exploitation of mineral resources which generated huge amounts of mining wastes leading to substantial environmental contamination by various metal(loid)s. This is especially the case of coal mine tailings which, subjected to weathering reactions, produce acid mine drainage (AMD), a recurring ecological issue related to current and past mining activities. In this study, we aimed to determine the origin, the fate and the ecotoxicity of metal(loid)s leached from a historical coal tailing heap to the Beuveroux river (Franche-Comté, France) using a combination of mineralogical, chemical and biological approaches. In the constitutive materials of the tailings, we identified galena, tetrahedrite and bournonite as metal-rich minerals and their weathering has led to massive contamination of the water and suspended particles of the river bordering the heap. The ecotoxicity of the AMD has been assessed using Chironomus riparius larvae encaged in the field during a one-month biomonitoring campaign. The larvae showed lethal and sub-lethal (growth and emergence inhibition and delay) impairments at the AMD tributary and near downstream stations. Metal bioaccumulation and subcellular fractionation in the larvae tissues revealed a strong bioavailability of, notably, As, Pb and Tl explaining the observed biological responses. Thus, more than 70 years after the end of mining operations, the coal tailings remain a chronic source of contamination and environmental risks in AMD effluent receiving waters.

Methane hazard has always been considered for underground coal mining as it can lead to methane explosion. In Quang Ninh province, several coal mines such as Mạo Khe coal mine, Khe Cham coal mine, especially Duong Huy mine that have high methane content. Experimental data to examine contents of methane bearing coal seams at different depths are not similar in Duong coal mine. In order to ensure safety, this report has been undertaken to determine a pattern of changing methane contents of coal seams at different exploitation depths in Duong Huy underground coal mine.
