This chapter describes the fourth and final class. There is a script for the opening meditation, followed by a description of check-in, with common student comments. The meditation skill taught is eating meditation, and a script is given which guides the students through the mindful eating of a grape or raisin. The final meditation, also scripted, gives the students more practice using labels and expands labeling practice to awareness and labeling of feelings. There is emphasis on how important it is for the students to find a direction for further learning and practice. There are frequently asked questions at the end of the chapter, which include the topics of eating meditation, labeling, how to continue the practice when the course is over, and the sharing of positive change brought about by the course.

This research paper aims to fill a gap in the literature by reporting on the effects of an integrated, targeted, mindful eating program. The program ‘The Dear Body - Loving the Body and Freeing the Mind – based on six mindfulness practices’ (The Dear Body program) is currently offered in Australia and Bali as live-in retreat programs. As Mindfulness becomes more accepted in the West, targeted applications are becoming more common in relation to stress reduction, workplace, medicine and parenting (as common examples). With obesity, stress and depression increasing in most Western cultures, Mindfulness offers a sound and comprehensive process for addressing these issues and generating positive change. This paper makes an important contribution to the exploration of the topic and its effectiveness, providing an important foundation for future research

Abstract. The present study aimed to investigate and compare the impact of the Mindful Construal Diary (MCD) and the Mindful Raisin Exercise on the sensory tasting experience of chocolate and participants’ chocolate consumption. Participants were randomly allocated into three conditions (MCD, mindful raisin exercise, and mindless control), and engaged with either the MCD, the mindful raisin exercise, or, were asked to read a news article, respectively, while they ate a piece of chocolate. They then rated their satisfaction and desire to consume more chocolate on a 10-point Likert scale, and filled in a state mindful eating scale. Afterward, participants were informed that the study had ended and were asked to wait while the experimenter recorded some information, and any extra chocolate consumption during this time was recorded. Participants in both mindfulness conditions consumed significantly less chocolate after the exercise than participants in the control condition. No significant differences were found between the three conditions on ratings of satisfaction and desire to consume more chocolate. Both the MCD and the raisin exercise can be used to successfully moderate the intake of calorific foods, while the MCD can be utilized as an alternative practice to the typical meditation-based interventions.

Abstract Among all creations of God living on this planet, Man is the most intelligent, innovative and creative.  Imbued with these qualities, Man was able to plan, create and recreate new things using the resources available in the environment. Man’s position as God’s best creation and as the recipient of the creative intelligence from his Creator has further advanced him in mastering science and technology. As a result of his advancement in knowledge and science in one way or another has ushered Man into creating great civilizations.
