Abstract In this paper, we derive the relationship between the weak basis invariants (WB) related to CP violation responsible for leptogenesis and CP violation relevant at low energy. We examine all the experimentally viable cases of Frampton-Glashow and Yanagida (FGY) model, in order to construct the WB invariants in terms of left handed Majorana neutrino mass matrix elements, and thus finding the necessary and sufficient condition for CP conservation. Further for all the viable FGY texture zeros, we have shown the explicit dependence of WB invariants on Dirac type and Majorana type CP violating phases. In the end, we discuss the implication of such interrelationships on leptogenesis.

Abstract We re-examine the weak basis invariants at low energies proposed by C. Jarlskog and Branco et al. in their earlier analyses, after confronting them with the assumptions of two zeros and an equality between arbitrary non-zero elements in the Majorana neutrino mass matrix in the flavored basis. This particular conjecture is found to be experimentally feasible, as shown by S. Dev and D. Raj in their recent work. The present analysis attempts to find the necessary and sufficient condition for CP invariance for each experimentally viable ansatz pertaining to the model, along with some important implications.

In this paper, we study the relationship between Cartan's second curvature tensor $P_{jkh}^{i}$ and $(h) hv-$torsion tensor $C_{jk}^{i}$ in sense of Berwald. Moreover, we discuss the necessary and sufficient condition for some tensors which satisfy a recurrence property in $BC$-$RF_{n}$, $P2$-Like-$BC$-$RF_{n}$, $P^{\ast }$-$BC$-$RF_{n}$ and $P$-reducible-$BC-RF_{n}$.

We have studied that the implication of a large value of the effective Majorana neutrino mass in case of neutrino mass matrices has either two equal elements and one zero element (popularly known as hybrid texture) or two equal cofactors and one zero minor (popularly known as inverse hybrid texture) in the flavor basis. In each of these cases, four out of sixty phenomenologically possible patterns predict near maximal atmospheric neutrino mixing angle in the limit of large effective Majorana neutrino mass. This feature remains irrespective of the experimental data on solar and reactor mixing angles. In addition, we have also performed the comparative study of all the viable cases of hybrid and inverse hybrid textures at 3σ CL.

Assuming a diagonal Majorana neutrino mass matrix, we investigate the neutrino Yukawa textures which lead to a nonzero reactor mixing angle [Formula: see text]. The neutrino effective coupling matrix [Formula: see text] is pre-diagonalized by a constant mixing pattern [Formula: see text] with a vanishing [Formula: see text]. The resulting pre-diagonal symmetrical matrix [Formula: see text] is set to be four texture zeros with two types of off-diagonal elements nonzero, which are [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text], respectively. With the expectation of simple textures, we thoroughly classify the linear combinations, [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] of Yukawa elements [Formula: see text] in the same row, according to the values, vanishing or not. Each set of the classifications can lead to a Yukawa texture which may have implications for the discrete flavor model buildings. We also present a model based on [Formula: see text] according to one set of the constraints on the three combinations with a specific choice of a coefficient in Yukawa texture.

Employing the projected-Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov (PHFB) model in conjunction with four different parametrizations of pairing plus multipolar effective two-body interaction and three different parametrizations of Jastrow short-range correlations, nuclear transition matrix elements for the neutrinoless double-[Formula: see text] decay of [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] isotopes are calculated within mechanisms involving light Majorana neutrino mass and right-handed current. Statistically, model specific uncertainties in sets of twelve nuclear transition matrix elements are estimated by calculating the averages along with the standard deviations. For the considered nuclei, the most stringent extracted on-axis limits on the effective light Majorana neutrino mass [Formula: see text], the effective weak coupling of right-handed leptonic current with right-handed hadronic current [Formula: see text], and the effective weak coupling of right-handed leptonic current with left-handed hadronic current [Formula: see text] from the observed limit on half-life [Formula: see text] of [Formula: see text] isotope are [Formula: see text][Formula: see text]eV, [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text], respectively.

We study the charged and the neutral current interactions of quarks in an SU (3)L × U (1)X electroweak model. Based on the assumption that u-type quarks coincide with their mass eigenstates, we obtain a new mixing angle θ′ and another CP violating phase δ′ in the extra heavy quark sector besides the usual Kobayashi–Maskawa mixing matrix. This new phase δ′ does not effect a change in the mass matrix elements of the [Formula: see text] systems when θ′ is small, but extra heavy quarks and gauge bosons give rise to additional contribution to the real part of the off-diagonal mass matrix elements and then the CP violation parameter ε is modified. By requiring that the tree level FCNC does not have an important effect on the [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] mixings in this model, we obtain a new lower bound on the mass of the extra heavy neutral gauge boson as 1.8 TeV.

We define a generalized lightlike Bertrand curve pair and a generalized non-lightlike Bertrand curve pair, discuss their properties and prove the necessary and sufficient condition of a curve which is a generalized lightlike or a generalized non-lightlike Bertrand curve. Moreover, we study the relationship between slant helices and generalized Bertrand curves.
