The ground-state phase diagrams are obtained for the spin-2 Ising model Hamiltonian with bilinear and biquadratic exchange interactions and a single-ion crystal field. The interactions are assumed to be only between nearest-neighbors. Obtained phase diagrams are presented in the (Δ,J), (K,J), (Δ/J,K/J), (Δ/|J|,K/|J|), (Δ/|K|,J/|K|), (H/J,Δ/J), (H/|J|,Δ/|J|), (H/J,K/J), and (H/|J|,K/|J|) planes where J, K, Δ, and H are the bilinear, biquadratic exchange interactions, the single-ion crystal field, and the external magnetic field, respectively. The influence of the external magnetic field on the spin configurations is investigated.

This research work focuses on the theoretical investigation of the upper critical magnetic field,HC2; Ginzburg-Landau coherence length,ξGL(T); and Ginzburg-Landau penetration depth,λGL(T), for the two-band iron based superconductorsBaFe2(As1-xPx)2,NdO1-xFxFeAs, and LiFeAs. By employing the phenomenological Ginzburg-Landau (GL) equation for the two-band superconductorsBaFe2(As1-xPx)2,NdO1-xFxFeAs, and LiFeAs, we obtained expressions for the upper critical magnetic field,HC2; GL coherence length,ξGL; and GL penetration depth,λGL, as a function of temperature and the angular dependency of upper critical magnetic field. By using the experimental values in the obtained expressions, phase diagrams of the upper critical magnetic field parallel,HC2∥c, and perpendicular,HC2⊥c, to the symmetry axis (c-direction) versus temperature are plotted. We also plotted the phase diagrams of the upper critical magnetic field,HC2versus the angleθ. Similarly, the phase diagrams of the GL coherence length,ξGL, and GL penetration depth,λGL, parallel and perpendicular to the symmetry axis versus temperature are drawn for the superconductors mentioned above. Our findings are in agreement with experimental observations.

In this case we investigate the NdFeB permanent magnet by the atomic force microscopy. Obtained phase diagrams in the center and on the edge of the sample. We investigate the uniformity of the magnetic structure.

Using optical microscopy, we studied magnetic-field-induced structures in a confined ferrofluid emulsion. Disks, "worms" and branch-like patterns are observed in 2-D, reflecting columnar, bent-wall-like and labyrinthine structures in 3-D. These structures are controlled by varying either the thickness of the cell used to confine the sample, the particle concentration, or the rate of the magnetic field application. The induced structures are characterized by both the ratio of "worms" vs. total aggregates and the average complexity of the aggregates. "Phase" diagrams are obtained between these tuning parameters to characterize columnar to bent-wall structural transitions.
