Mobile edge computing (MEC) has become more popular both in academia and industry. Currently, with the help of edge servers and cloud servers, it is one of the substantial technologies to overcome the latency between cloud server and wireless device, computation capability and storage shortage of wireless devices. In mobile edge computing, wireless devices take responsibility with input data. At the same time, edge servers and cloud servers take charge of computation and storage. However, until now, how to balance the power consumption of edge devices and time delay has not been well addressed in mobile edge computing. In this paper, we focus on strategies of the task offloading decision and the influence analysis of offloading decisions on different environments. Firstly, we propose a system model considering both energy consumption and time delay and formulate it into an optimization problem. Then, we employ two algorithms—Enumerating and Branch-and-Bound—to get the optimal or near-optimal decision for minimizing the system cost including the time delay and energy consumption. Furthermore, we compare the performance between two algorithms and draw the conclusion that the comprehensive performance of Branch-and-Bound algorithm is better than that of the other. Finally, we analyse the influence factors of optimal offloading decisions and the minimum cost in detail by changing key parameters.

When the power is in control of its own fleet of vehicles, the power grid will experience an increase in the amount of fluctuating energy consumption depending on the nature of the load presentation. Depending on the drawing density, electric batteries can be integrated to create a new volume of the overall load profile can increase the voltage of the tips. Fees and charges the pattern is not random, as they can affect the driver's travel habits and charging capabilities, which means that ANY integration as well as a significant impact will have cargo. An increasing number of loads and peaks in load may lead to the need to upgrade the network infrastructure in order to reduce the risk of loss, abandoned services and or damage to any components. But with well-designed incentives for users, the HOME variable that is in the electric vehicle charging (EVC) - based power consumption can be flexible load, which can help in the energy system load and reduce charging at the tips.

This paper considers the energy consumption minimization in permutation flow shop (PFS) scheduling problem. The energy consumption of each machine is decomposed into two parts: useful part which completes the operation at current stage and wasted part which is consumed during idle period. The objective considered here is to minimize the total wasted energy consumption which is a weighted summation of the idle time of each machine. To solve this new problem, a branch-and-bound algorithm is developed. Two lower bounds are proposed, and an initial upper bound by using a variant of NEH heuristic algorithm is applied. Compared with the makespan minimization criterion, this model deduces more energy-saving solutions. Experimental results also validate the efficiency of the proposed algorithm for problems with job number not larger than 15.
