In recent years social media applications, which enable consumers to contribute to the world of online content, have grown in popularity. However, this growth is yet to be transformed into a sustainable commercial model. Starting with a brief overview of existing online advertising models, this chapter discusses the opportunities available for advertisers trying to reach consumers through social media. The chapter focuses on viral marketing as a viable option for marketers, reviews recent viral marketing campaigns, and offers recommendations for a successful implementation of social media marketing. In conclusion, the author examines future trends regarding the utilization of the emerging Semantic Web in marketing online.

Web 2.0 delivers the information which is then displayed in human readable content, omitting the crucial information which can be drawn from the data by the applications. Web 3.0 or semantic web is an extension to the current web, with an ambition to determine the drawbacks of the current web. The semantic web has already proven its influence in several communities around the globe, such as social media, music industry, healthcare domain, online blogs or articles, etc.; Among the several tools and technologies, ontologies or vocabularies are the foundation pillar for the semantic web. In this paper, the developed system aims at improving the collaboration and academic relations among staff which is directly related to our education community by providing a better networking platform which lets the agents discuss their achievements, titles, domain interests, and various other activities. Results have been analyzed to show how new facts, information can be implied from the presented knowledge of several agents and help generate a relationship graph by utilizing various semantic tools. The system discussed in this paper processes all the information in a format which can be understood by both humans and the machines, to interpret the underlying meaning about it and provide effective results.

Abstract: Air is one of the most essential natural resources for the existence and survival of the entire life on this planet. all living organisms need good quality of air which is free of harmful gases to continue their life. Some organizations have set up monitoring systems with different data structures without an equalization standard. On the other hand, humans still need time to interpret sensor data to get information. Linked Data is a method for representing and connecting structured data on the web. The structured data is integrated with the Semantic Sensor Web (SSW) which is published in several formats so that it is easy to read and can be connected to other structured data. Then, to present the actual data, the monitoring system is designed to receive data continuously, queried in real time and shared through social media   Keywords: Air Quality Monitoring, Linked Data, Semantic Web, Social Media

SummaryBackground: An increasing amount of health education resources for patients and professionals are distributed via social media channels. For example, thousands of health education videos are disseminated via You-Tube. Often, tags are assigned by the disseminator. However, the lack of use of standardized terminologies in those tags and the presence of misleading videos make it particularly hard to retrieve relevant videos. Objectives: i) Identify the use of standardized medical thesauri (SNOMED CT) in You-Tube Health videos tags from preselected YouTube Channels and demonstrate an information technology (IT) architecture for treating the tags of these health (video) resources. ii) Investigate the relative percentage of the tags used that relate to SNOMED CT terms. As such resources may play a key role in educating professionals and patients, the use of standardized vocabularies may facilitate the sharing of such resources. iii) Demonstrate how such resources may be properly exploited within the new generation of semantically enriched content or learning management systems that allow for knowledge expansion through the use of linked medical data and numerous literature resources also described through the same vocabularies. Methods: We implemented a video portal integrating videos from 500 US Hospital channels. The portal integrated 4,307 YouTube videos regarding surgery as described by 64,367 tags. BioPortal REST services were used within our portal to match SNOMED CT terms with YouTube tags by both exact match and non-exact match. The whole architecture was complemented with a mechanism to enrich the retrieved video resources with other educational material residing in other repositories by following contemporary semantic web advances, in the form of Linked Open Data (LOD) principles. Results: The average percentage of YouTube tags that were expressed using SNOMED CT terms was about 22.5%, while one third of YouTube tags per video contained a SNOMED CT term in a loose search; this analogy became one tenth in the case of exact match. Retrieved videos were then linked further to other resources by using LOD compliant systems. Such results were exemplified in the case of systems and technologies used in the mEducator EC funded project. Conclusion: YouTube Health videos can be searched for and retrieved using SNOMED CT terms with a high possibility of identifying health videos that users want based on their search criteria. Despite the fact that tagging of this information with SNOMED CT terms may vary, its availability and linked data capacity opens the door to new studies for personalized retrieval of content and linking with other knowledge through linked medical data and semantic advances in (learning) content management systems.
