In this work, the direct torque control (DTC) is applied to the five-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (FP-PMSM). The DTC method based on classical space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) is a common solution used to overcome traditional problems; such as stator flux ripple, electromagnetic torque ripple and gives more total harmonic distortion (THD) of the stator current. The actual paper is based on improving the performance of DTC-SVPWM by using the feedforward neural networks (FNNs) instead of the proportional-integral (PI) regulators and hysteresis comparators (HCs) of the conventional SVPWM strategy. This algorithm can solve the traditional PI regulators and HCs problems which are represented in responses dynamic and reduce the torque ripple, flux ripple, and the THD of stator current of FP-PMSM drives. The proposed strategy was tested in different tests with simulation using Matlab software.

Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) technique is one of the best method of PWM variable frequency drive and make the AC motor achieving the performance as good as DC motor. Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) has many advantages of small volume, steady operation, high energy efficiency, large output torque, etc. To solve the problems of auto environment and energy sources, study on Pure Electric Vehicles (PEV) driven by PMSM based on SVPWM is an important research direction and has the practical value. On the basis of analyzing the basic models of SVPWM, PMSM and PEV, simulation model of PMSM Control System for PEV can be constructed. The results of the simulation show that the control system has super performance and meet the request of system.

The advantage and disadvantage of the common control methods for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) are analyzed. Combined the sine pulse-width modulation (SPWM) and field oriented control (FOC) algorithm, a novel control method of the space vector pulse-width modulation with single closed loop is presented. In MATLAB-Simulink, based on the mathematic model of PMSM, used the S-function and the algorithm of single-loop space vector pulse-width modulation (SL-SVPWM) a servo-model of PMSM is established. Via experiment, compared SPWM method to SL-SVPWM method, the different results of phase current waveform of PMSM are drawn; and the dynamic response behavior of the motor which driven by the method of SL-SVPWM is analyzed. The results of the simulation and experiment verified that the SL-SVPWM method in this paper simplified the control system of PMSM, and this control method has better control stability.
