According to the recent findings in education reform in the Philippines, this has been characterized by increased standards and higher expectations for teacher performance. Today, teachers in general are being asked to improve their educational practices including methods, pedagogy, content knowledge, and research capability. The success or failure of the students performance is basically dependent on the kind of instruction students receive from their respective teachers (Punongbayan, 2015). The researcher utilized the descriptive correlational method of research. According to Nieswiadomy (2008), a correlational research design is used to describe the statistical association between two or more variables. The interest is examining the teachers research capability, emotional intelligence, and instructional supervision as determinants of teachers performance in Augustinian Higher Educational Institution.A validated semi- structured questionnaire was used as a primary data gathering tool. Documentary analysis was also used extensively in determining the factors influencing teachers performance of Augustinian HEIs. The respondents of the study were the teachers and Heads of Augustinian Schools in the School Year 2018 -2019. This study focused on identifying the determinants of teachers performance in Augustinian higher education institutions (HEIs). Teachers performance were assessed in terms research productivity, emotional intelligence and instructional supervision. Results of the regression revealed that of the three provisions: research productivity, emotional intelligence and instructional supervision contribute a significant effects in the teachers performance.

The Commission on Higher Education of the Philippines envisions that all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the country should develop the culture of research. It has been pushing for a stronger research orientation but still did not boost research productivity. This study aimed to determine the profile of research culture and faculty research productivity of accredited Private Higher Education Institutions of North Cotabato, Philippines. All full-time faculty members (131) who have at least earned units in any master's degree program, and master's and doctorate holders of the four accredited Private Higher Education Institutions were the respondents of this study. Research Directors were the key informants of the interview. Descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis were employed  It was found out that the research culture building factors explicitly of the individual attributes such as highest educational attainment, and research training, knowledge and skills; and the institutional attributes namely research incentives, research forum and administrative support  significantly influenced the research productivity of the faculty in terms of the magnitude of their roles in institutional research, theses and dissertations, funded research projects, number of researches produced and number of research published in refereed journals. Moreover, the most significant predictor of research productivity of the faculty respondents was researched incentive. As recommended, the different respondent institutions shall formulate an institutional comprehensive plan for research and research development from which they can anchor whatever strategies they would undertake to increase research productivity. Also, it is also recommended that HEIs will develop an attractive and handsome incentive package that can surely motivate the faculty to engage in research endeavors.

The paper analyzes measures adopted by the Russian Federation on internationalization and globalization of the higher education system, its integration into the international scientific and education area. One of the initiatives of the authorities of the Russian Federation in this direction is Project 5-100, designed to increase the competitiveness of both a selected group of universities and the Russian higher education system as a whole. Among the successful practices of Project 5-100, one can identify the presentation of a single stand of participating universities at the international education exhibitions APAIE, EAIE, NAFSA. Within this study, we explore the cooperation of the universities participating in Project 5-100 with potential international partners at global educational exhibitions by means of network analysis with graphs. The effectiveness of such cooperation from the point of view of integration of the universities from this group into the international higher education area is determined through estimations of the usefulness of participation in such events made by the universities and through scientometric analysis. As a result of this study, it was revealed that active participation in international educational exhibitions including negotiating, establishing contacts with international partners, contributes significantly to the promotion of the universities participating in Project 5-100 in the international arena.

BACKGROUND Every two years, German-speaking dermatologic specialist groups gather in Berlin to share the latest developments at Germany´s largest dermatologic conference, the Annual Meeting of the Germany Society of Dermatology (DDG). Because this conference has a lasting effect on dermatologic practice and research, understanding what is moving the specialist groups means understanding what is driving dermatology in Germany. OBJECTIVE The objective of the article is to introduce the medical scientific community to a data visualization method, which will help understand more sophisticated data analysis and processing approaches in the future. METHODS We used word network analysis to compile and visualize the information embedded in the contribution titles to the DDG Annual Meeting in 2019. We extracted words, contributing cities and inter-connections. The data was standardized, visualized using network graphs and analyzed using common network analysis parameters. RESULTS A total of 5509 words were extracted from 1150 contribution titles. The most frequently used words were “therapy”, “patients”, and “psoriasis”. The highest number of contributions came from Hamburg, Berlin and Munich. High diversity in research topics was found, as well as a well-connected research network. CONCLUSIONS Focus of the well-connected German-speaking dermatology community meeting 2019 was patient and therapy centered and lies especially on the diseases psoriasis and melanoma. Network graph analysis can provide helpful insights and help planning future congresses. It can facilitate the choice which contributors to include as imbalances become apparent. Moreover, it can help distributing the topics more evenly across the whole dermatologic spectrum.

The twenty-first century has seen a surge in scholarship on Latino educational history and a new nonbinary umbrella term, Latinx, that a younger generation prefers. Many of historian Victoria-María MacDonald's astute observations in 2001 presaged the growth of the field. Focus has increased on Spanish-surnamed teachers and discussions have grown about the Latino experience in higher education, especially around student activism on campus. Great strides are being made in studying the history of Spanish-speaking regions with long ties to the United States, either as colonies or as sites of large-scale immigration, including Puerto Rico, Cuba, and the Philippines. Historical inquiry into the place of Latinos in the US educational system has also developed in ways that MacDonald did not anticipate. The growth of the comparative race and ethnicity field in and of itself has encouraged cross-ethnic and cross-racial studies, which often also tie together larger themes of colonialism, language instruction, legal cases, and civil rights or activism.

Abstract Background Analyzing the previous research literature in the field of clinical teaching has potential to show the trend and future direction of this field. This study aimed to visualize the co-authorship networks and scientific map of research outputs of clinical teaching and medical education by Social Network Analysis (SNA). Methods We Identified 1229 publications on clinical teaching through a systematic search strategy in the Scopus (Elsevier), Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics) and Medline (NCBI/NLM) through PubMed from the year 1980 to 2018.The Ravar PreMap, Netdraw, UCINet and VOSviewer software were used for data visualization and analysis. Results Based on the findings of study the network of clinical teaching was weak in term of cohesion and the density in the co-authorship networks of authors (clustering coefficient (CC): 0.749, density: 0.0238) and collaboration of countries (CC: 0.655, density: 0.176). In regard to centrality measures; the most influential authors in the co-authorship network was Rosenbaum ME, from the USA (0.048). More, the USA, the UK, Canada, Australia and the Netherlands have central role in collaboration countries network and has the vertex co-authorship with other that participated in publishing articles in clinical teaching. Analysis of background and affiliation of authors showed that co-authorship between clinical researchers in medicine filed is weak. Nineteen subject clusters were identified in the clinical teaching research network, seven of which were related to the expected competencies of clinical teaching and three related to clinical teaching skills. Conclusions In order to improve the cohesion of the authorship network of clinical teaching, it is essential to improve research collaboration and co-authorship between new researchers and those who have better closeness or geodisk path with others, especially those with the clinical background. To reach to a dense and powerful topology in the knowledge network of this field encouraging policies to be made for international and national collaboration between clinicians and clinical teaching specialists. In addition, humanitarian and clinical reasoning need to be considered in clinical teaching as of new direction in the field from thematic aspects.
