Flat-plate collector considers most common types of collectors, for ease of manufacturing and low price compared with other collectors. The main aim of the present work is to increase the efficiency of the collector, which can be achieved by improving the heat transfer and minimize heat loss experimentally. Five types of solar air collectors have been tested, which conventional channel with a smooth absorber plate (model I), dual channel with a smooth absorber plate (model II), dual channel with perforating “V” corrugated absorber plate (model III), dual channel with internal attached wire mesh (model Ⅳ), and dual channel with absorber sheet of transparent honeycomb, (model Ⅴ). The dual channel collector used for increasing heat transfer area and heat removal factor to improve thermal performance. The outdoor test was conducted during the period December (2016) to February (2017) at different mass flow rates 0.0217 kg/s, 0.0271 kg/s and 0.0325 kg/s. The experiments were carried out from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM for clear days. Experimental results show that the average thermal efficiency was (72.2 %) for model (III), (40.2 %) for model (I), (51.6 %) for model (II), (65.1 %) for model (Ⅳ) and (59.7 %) for model (Ⅴ). At the last part of the study, the exergy analyses were derived for both collectors. The results of this part showed that the conventional channel model (I) is having largest irreversibility, and the dual channel collector model (III) is having a greatest exergetic efficiency.

Works councils were introduced in Poland in 2006, changing the system of employee representation from a single-channel model to a dual-channel model. However, they have not succeeded in promoting social dialogue and creating a strong institution for employee participation. I draw on a quantitative study to analyse why their role in Polish industrial relations is so marginal. I focus on the relationship between trade unions and the new ‘democratic’ councils and information and consultation process itself.

The relationship between accuracy and confidence in psychophysical tasks traditionally has been assumed to be mainly positive, i.e., the two typically increase or decrease together. However, recent studies have reported examples of exceptions, where confidence and accuracy dissociate from each other. Explanations for such dissociations often involve dual-channel models, in which a cortical channel contributes to both accuracy and confidence, whereas a subcortical channel only contributes to accuracy. Here, we show that a single-channel model derived from signal detection theory (SDT) can also account for such dissociations. We applied transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) to the occipital cortex to disrupt the internal representation of a visual stimulus. The results showed that consistent with previous research, occipital TMS decreased accuracy. However, counterintuitively, it also led to an increase in confidence ratings. The data were predicted well by a single-channel SDT model, which posits that occipital TMS increased the variance of the internal stimulus distributions. A formal model comparison analysis that used information theoretic methods confirmed that this model was preferred over single-channel models, in which occipital TMS changed the signal strength or dual-channel models, which assume two different processing routes. Thus our results show that dissociations between accuracy and confidence can, at least in some cases, be accounted for by a single-channel model.

As an increasing number of firms move to omnichannel operation for business sustainability, it is also necessary for fresh produce firms to adopt an omnichannel model by integrating online and offline channels. We focus on a fresh produce supply chain consisting of a supplier who sells online directly and a physical store retailer. The purpose of this paper is to explore the optimal channel selection strategy considering the fresh-keeping efforts of supply chain members. Specifically, we examine the conditions under which the supply chain members should cooperate to adopt the deliver-from-store (DFS) model and further investigate the impact of consumers’ freshness sensitivity and offline hassle cost on supply chain members’ sales model options. Several important conclusions are shown as follows. First, the retailer’s profit increases with the increasing freshness sensitivity in the dual-channel model, while it decreases if consumers are sufficiently sensitive to freshness in the DFS model. Second, if adopting the DFS model, online demand and total market demand expand, and the performance of the supplier and the retailer heavily depends on the size of the commission rate. Third, there always exists a win–win situation with an appropriate range of commission rate when the consumer’s hassle cost is large. This paper contributes to the omnichannel strategy research of fresh produce supply chain management and the results provide management insights for the sustainable development of the fresh produce industry in the omnichannel retailing environment.

In this paper, the effects of strategic consumer behaviors have been investigated and analyzed with regard to online retailers and offline retailers in a dual-channel supply chain. Four channel structures (i.e., no-promotion, a direct online channel, a retail offline channel, and dual channels introduced in the promotion sales period) are considered. At the beginning of the paper, the original demand functions of a dual-channel supply chain incorporating the consumers’ utility has been introduced. The results indicate that despite improved consumer patience, all promotional prices do not fall as expected. When sales channels are provided by online retailers rather than offline retailers during the promotion period, offline retailers can achieve higher profits. We also find that in most cases, a dual-channel model in a single-period is more beneficial to both online and offline retailers than a dual-channel model in two periods, which is, to a certain extent, contrary to the existing literature of single sales channel.

The remanufacturing after-sales service of green supply chain requires OEM (original equipment manufacturer) and remanufacturer (his dealer) to collaborate closely. In this paper, two after-sales service models were proposed with an OEM and a remanufacturer. The optimal remanufacturing technology transfer and the influence mechanism were analyzed. The results suggested that: in dual channel model, the rising proportion of technology transfer promoted the development of remanufacturing market. Technology transfer ratio of single channel model rising resulted in different development tendencies of the remanufacturing market. For dual channel model, the Chinese government should not only encourage manufacturers to transfer manufacturing technology, but also encourage OEM to shift profit model from traditional profit model of the new-part sales to technology development and services. However, in single channel model, the government should encourage OEM to transfer more manufacturing technology to promote the remanufacturing market prosperity.
