Literature indicates availability of dynamic analysis of a drive shaft of a chain conveyor in a limited way. Relations for estimation of a conveyor chain pull to overcome, (i) Rolling resistance of the track, (ii) Tail sprocket and drive sprocket shaft bearing friction resistances, (iii) Drive and tail sprocket chain binding resistances and (iv) Impact loading on the chain have been only derived [1,2]. However, further extension to deduce the load torque demand on drive sprocket during one articulation of the chain is not seen derived in the literature. This paper details this, followed by digital computer simulation including illustration of application of this new procedure to a representative case study. Work on the same lines is not much seen in the literature. However, similar work by Harrison [4] is done for the belt conveyor.

This paper is about dynamic simulation of the belt conveyor based on ADAMS and PRO/E, and analyzes the influence of the transport distance of the conveyor start-up. As the transport distance of belt conveyor increases, the time of which start-up speed increases from rapidly to slowly prolongs, and the lateral vibration of the belt is more severe. It provides a basis for the selection of start-up time and idler spacing.

The accident caused by the off-tracking of belt is one of the most common belt conveyor failures, and corrective device is very important for guarantying its safe operation. The method of establishing physical model and simulation of corrective device is described in this paper, and the problems that must be paid attention to by using software. The idea of dynamic analysis to test the effect of different corrective devices by using simulation software is proposed.

With the magnification of the belt conveyor, dynamic analysis and dynamic design have become indispensability means in the design of belt conveyor. In this article, we build the finite-element model of the starting and stopping process, which bases on the multi-driving belt conveyor system, and the dynamic calculation method of multi-driving system basing on power tracing. According to the reasonable starting curve, we start the first driving/drive, and then the rest drives trace the first driving in order. We bring forward the starting curve of trapezium acceleration from the existing S-curve. We develop the dynamic analysis software of belt conveyor and test the correctness of its calculation and software by the computer simulation of the actual system. The method had been applied in the system design of 7.6 km belt conveyor in Jincheng city, Shanxi province.
