Proses pengeringan gitar pada produksi gitar di Usaha Mikro Kecil Menengah (UMKM) masih menggunakan cara manual seperti mengeringkan di luar ruangan, hal ini tentu akan memperlambat proses produksi karena masih mengandallkan bantuan sinar matahari dan udara. Proses pengeringan gitar yang baik memiliki peran penting khususnya dari segi estetika dalam pembuatan gitar. Kualitas permukaan gitar diharapkan memiliki tingkat kehalusan yang baik dan tanpa debu. Oleh karena itu, metode pengeringan gitar yang baik sangat diperlukan oleh UMKM. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah merancang dan menganalisa sistem overhead chain conveyor untuk pengeringan gitar dengan penggerak motor listrik 1 HP. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menangani permasalahan pengeringan gitar agar efektif dan meminimalisir adanya debu pada permukaan gitar. Alat bantu pengeringan gitar ini menggunakan kendali forward reverse untuk sistem kendalinya dengan penggerak motor induksi. Pada hasil, analisa dan evaluasi dilakukan dengan pengujian terhadap efisien waktu proses pengeringan gitar. Pada penelitian ini, diperoleh waktu pengeringan tercepat pada 40 menit. Hal ini mampu memangkas waktu 15 menit dari metode pengeringan yang ada sebelumnya. Cepatnya waktu pengeringan ini tentu akan mendorong produktivitas pada UMKM.

PT.Kutai Timber Indonesia merupakan perusahaan yang memproduksi produk plywood (kayu lapis) dengan didukung oleh sejumlah mesin dan peralatan yang saling berinteraksi untuk mencapai produktivitas yang optimal. Salah satu mesin utama pada PT. Kutai Timber Indonesia adalah mesin Rotary Lathe yang fungsi utamanya adalah mengolah kayu log menjadi veener. Adapun permasalahan yang ditemukan yaitu tingkat efektifitas mesin Rotary Lathe jika dihitung dengan menggunakan metode Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) adalah 53,8 %, nilai tersebut masih dibawah standart Word class yaitu 85%. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sistem tersebut dengan metode Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM).Hasil dari analisis, didapatkan bahwa komponen Spur knife, Bearing 6004 RS, Sproket, Chain conveyor, Steel belt lacing, memiliki nilai prioritas terbesar dalam kegagalan sistem (RPN) sehingga membutuhkan perhatian yang lebih dan tindakan pemeliharaan yang tepat. Berdasarkan perhitungan total minimum downtime didapatkan interval pergantian optimum komponen, Sproket, Bearing 6004 RS, Spur knife masing-masing adalah sebesar 69 hari, 22 hari dan 30 hari. tujuan dari pergantian komponen tersebut adalah untuk menjaga reliability atau kehandalan dari mesin Rotary lathe. Dengan menerapkan metode Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) sebagai metode perawatan yang baru, maka dapat dilihat adanya potensi penurunan downtime sebesar 21,5 % pada mesin Rotary lathe.

Kota Lhokseumawe yang pernah diklaim menjadi kota bebas sampah ini juga terkenal karena dua kali mendapatkan penghargaan Adipura oleh Presiden RI. Dalam hal mengelola sampah pada tahun 2009 dan 2010. Akan tetapi volume sampah yang ada di selokan dan di Waduk Lhokseumawe tentu permasalahan serius yang membutuhkan perhatian khusus. Kesadaran masyarakat akan kebersihan penulis rasa masih sangat kurang. Kedisiplinan dalam membuang sampah harusnya selalu di terapkan. Dengan terwujudnya mesin pengangkat sampah sistem chain conveyor otomatis ini dapat mengurangi penumpukan sampah diselokan maupun irigasi yang bisa menghambat air mengalir. Dalam pengoperasian mesin ini dimana sensor mendeteksi jarak sampah yang terdapat pada aliran air dengan jarak 1 cm diatas permukaan air, sensor memberikan sinyal kepada micro controller untuk mengaktifkan motor penggerak bucket yang mengangkat sampah yang terdeteksi oleh sensor ultrasonic untuk dimasukan ke dalam bak sampah yang terdepat pada mesin pengangkat sampah otomatis. Motor akan hidup dalam durasi 2 menit 30 detik (00:02:30), dan motor akan hidup kembali ketika sensor mendeteksi sampah berikutnya. Beban maksimal yang dapat diangkat oleh bucket 5 kilogram.Kata kunci: Mesin Pengangkat Sampah Sistem Chain Conveyor Otomatis.

The article deals with the calculation of the drive and chain transmission of the newly created mechanized drying plant for drying melon slices. The essence of the utility model: the machine contains a horizontal tunnel chamber, inside which is mounted a chain conveyor with driving and driven sprockets, load-carrying elements, the IR emitters with reflectors on top of the camera mounted electric air heater, fan, an annular heat exchanger equipped with inlet and outlet nozzles of the drying agent. On the branches of the conveyor chain, lodgments with folding clamps are mounted, on which load-bearing elements are fixed, which are used as wooden poles. The calculation of the drive and chain transmission of the drying plant conveyor was carried out according to the existing method according to the scheme shown in the figure. Thus, the main parameters of the drive and chain transmission parts of the mechanized chamber-chain drying plant for drying melon fruits were determined by calculation

Climate Change is a crucial challenge of today. The main reason is increased man-made emissions of climate gases, like CO2, into the atmosphere. In every part of our life, these emissions have to be reduced. Transport of goods, called intra- or extralogistics, is necessary for economic welfare. Intralogistics means the transport of goods in distribution centres or manufacturing spaces, e. g. between machines. For continuous transport processes chain conveyor systems (CCS) are state of the art. The research group “Plastic Components and Tribology” at professorship of Conveying Engineering and Materials Handling focus on impacts of their whole life cycle, from design over use until end-of-life, on the environment. Another focus is the development of Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for chain conveyor systems. They are useful to promote environmentally-friendly products and to push eco-design activities. But also, activities of circular economy such as recycling of the plastic parts from conveyor chains are examined. The article gives an overview of the goals achieved and the challenges ahead. Some of the achieved results will be presented.

In continuous conveyor systems with circulating traction mechanisms, e.g. chains, the kinematic-dynamic movement behaviour of the traction mechanism is of great importance. Force and vibration analyses can be used to detect overloads and other irregularities in the conveying process. This helps to prevent damage that can lead to a complete failure of the conveyor system. Such analyses are particularly interesting for slide chain conveyors with plastic chains, as these react very sensitively to system overload due to limited thermal and mechanical characteristics as well as often a complex track layout. This article shows how accelerations and tractive forces can be continuously recorded, transmitted and analysed by sensors integrated into the chain links. In addition to the discussion of test results, potential applications of the measuring chain are shown.

Tube chain conveyor is a new type of energy saving and high efficient continuous conveying equipment with flexible traction components. Due to the lack of theory research, in the domestic TCC compared with the foreign one there are some shortcomings including high energy consumption, small size, small applicable scope, etc. According to the limit equilibrium conditions of bulk material, we will research the scraper's static force acts on the material and the force's transmission area of scraper to get the tube chain conveyor scraper pitch's limit calculation formula. It is of great significance to promote the development of domestic tube chain conveyor.

A small-scale maize harvester was designed and fabricated for developing countries and is composed of a harvester header, a chain conveyor, a drive power unit and a five-wheel tricycle. Fabrication of components was made and assembling of the devices on the tricycle was done. The performance evaluation of the small-scale maize harvester was done at 15% kernels moisture content (wet basis). Three rotational speeds of the engine, 1347, 1521 and 1937 rpm were used, while the forward velocity of the harvester was kept at an average of 0.617 km.hr-1. The testing experiment revealed significant effect of physical properties of maize (p<0,05). The highest machine capacity was obtained at 0.05 ha.hr-1, while the highest driving efficiency was 97.30% and the highest picking and conveying efficiencies were 84.11% and 98.21%, respectively. However, it was observed that the machine noise level decreased with increase in engine speed. Also, the engine speed affected both picking and conveying efficiencies. The designed machine is found suitable for most smallholder farms.
