A novel affect-sensitive human-robot cooperative framework is presented in this paper. Peripheral physiological indices are measured through wearable biofeedback sensors to detect the affective state of the human. Affect recognition is performed through both quantitative and qualitative analyses. A subsumption control architecture sensitive to the affective state of the human is proposed for a mobile robot. Human-robot cooperation experiments are performed where the robot senses the affective state of the human and responds appropriately. The results presented here validate the proposed framework and demonstrate a new way of achieving implicit communication between a human and a robot.

A mobile manipulator is a robotic system consisting of a mobile platform on which a manipulator arm is mounted, allowing the robotic system to perform locomotion and manipulation tasks simultaneously. A mobile manipulator has several advantages over a robot manipulator which is fixed, the main advantage is a larger workspace. The robots manipulators are oriented to work collaboratively with the human being in tasks that simultaneously require mobility and ability to interact with the environment through the manipulation of objects. This article will present the electronic design for a mobile robot manipulator with five degrees of freedom and a 6-wheel traction with four of these directional.

A collection of useful subroutines named the SpaceDyn is developed in order to offer an open, free tool of numerical simulations for researchers both in robotics and space engineering fields. The SpaceDyn is a MATLAB Toolbox for kinematic and dynamic analysis and simulation of articulated multibody systems with a moving base. Examples of such systems include a satellite with mechanical appendages, a free-flying space robot, a robotic system with structural flexibility, and a mobile robot, all of which makes motions in the environment with or without gravity.
