In recent times, refined neutrosophic sets introduced by Deli [6] has been one of the most powerful and flexible approaches for dealing with complex and uncertain situations of real world. In particular, the decision making methods between refined neutrosophic sets are important since it has applications in various areas such as image segmentation, decision making, medical diagnosis, pattern recognition and many more. The aim of this paper is to introduce a new distance-based similarity measure for refined neutrosophic sets. The properties of the proposed new distance-based similarity measure have been studied and the findings are applied in medical diagnosis of some diseases with a common set of symptoms.

For representing and manipulating uncertain information like fuzzy, incomplete, inconsistent or imprecise, Neutrosophic relation database model is a more general platform, in the human decision-making process. Neutrosophic sets can easily handle real world problems. A new correlation method is introduced in this paper to construct similarity measure, by which decision making problem that exist in real world situation can be easily handled in regard of multiple existing criteria’s or incomplete or inconsistent information. The selection of the best option of alternative can be done by ranking all the other options as per similarity measure depending on concept of similarity. Later in this paper, an explanatory example is given of the proposed method and the comparison results are also presented to show the effective output.. The application in certain domains of medical diagnosis problems having multiple criteria’s in decision making are also discussed in the end of the proposed method.

The aim of this paper is to propose a new similarity measure of singlevalued neutrosophic sets (SVNSs). The idea of the construction of the new similarity measure comes from Chi-square distance measure, which is an important measure in the applications of image analysis and statistical inference. Numerical examples are provided to show the superiority of the proposed similarity measure comparing with the existing similarity measures of SVNSs. A weighted similarity is also put forward based on the proposed similarity. Some examples are given to show the effectiveness and practicality of the proposed similarity in pattern recognition, medical diagnosis and multi-attribute decision making problems under single-valued neutrosophic environment.

In recent years, Intuitionistic fuzzy set is very useful in decision making problems such as medical diagnosis, pattern recognition, clustering etc., which deals with vagueness and uncertainty. Similarity measure is a tool used to find the closeness of the intuitionistic fuzzy sets by considering the membership, nonmembership and hesitation function. In this paper, we propose an effective similarity measure based on tangent function for intuitionistic fuzzy multi sets in which membership, nonmembership, hesitation function occurs more than once and also we apply this measure in medical diagnosis and pattern recognition.

We introduce the concept of generalised interval-valued fuzzy soft set and its operations and study some of their properties. We give applications of this theory in solving a decision making problem. We also introduce a similarity measure of two generalised interval-valued fuzzy soft sets and discuss its application in a medical diagnosis problem: fuzzy set; soft set; fuzzy soft set; generalised fuzzy soft set; generalised interval-valued fuzzy soft set; interval-valued fuzzy set; interval-valued fuzzy soft set.

Higher-order fuzzy decision-making methods have become powerful tools to support decision-makers in solving their problems effectively by reflecting uncertainty in calculations better than crisp sets in the last 3 decades. Fermatean fuzzy set proposed by Senapati and Yager, which can easily process uncertain information in decision making, pattern recognition, medical diagnosis et al., is extension of intuitionistic fuzzy set and Pythagorean fuzzy set by relaxing the restraint conditions of the support for degrees and support against degrees. In this paper, we focus on the similarity measures of Fermatean fuzzy sets. The definitions of the Fermatean fuzzy sets similarity measures and its weighted similarity measures on discrete and continuous universes are given in turn. Then, the basic properties of the presented similarity measures are discussed. Afterward, a decision-making process under the Fermatean fuzzy environment based on TOPSIS method is established, and a new method based on the proposed Fermatean fuzzy sets similarity measures is designed to solve the problems of medical diagnosis. Ultimately, an interpretative multi-criteria decision making example and two medical diagnosis examples are provided to demonstrate the viability and effectiveness of the proposed method. Through comparing the different methods in the multi-criteria decision making and the medical diagnosis application, it is found that the new method is as efficient as the other methods. These results illustrate that the proposed method is practical in dealing with the decision making problems and medical diagnosis problems.

We present dynamic interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets (DIVIFS), which can improve the recognition accuracy when they are applied to pattern recognition. By analyzing the degree of hesitancy, we propose some DIVIFS models from intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFS) and interval-valued IFS (IVIFS). And then we present a novel ranking condition on the distance of IFS and IVIFS and introduce some distance measures of DIVIFS satisfying the ranking condition. Finally, a pattern recognition example applied to medical diagnosis decision making is given to demonstrate the application of DIVIFS and its distances. The simulation results show that the DIVIFS method is more comprehensive and flexible than the IFS method and the IVIFS method.

The notion of simple bipolar quadripartition is presented valuable neutrosophic set. Some basic set theoretic terminologies, operations and properties of bipolar quadripartitioned single valued neutrosophic set are given here. Also different types of distances, similarity measures and entropy measure are discussed. Finally a decision making problem using the similarity measure technique of bipolar quadripartitioned single valued neutrosophic sets has been solved.

The intention of this paper is to propose some similarity measures between Fermatean fuzzy sets (FFSs). Firstly, we propose some score based similarity measures for finding similarity measures of FFSs and also propose score based cosine similarity measures between FFSs. Furthermore, we introduce three newly scored functions for effective uses of Fermatean fuzzy sets and discuss some relevant properties of cosine similarity measure. Fermatean fuzzy sets introduced by Senapati and Yager can manipulate uncertain information more easily in the process of multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) and group decision making. Here, we investigate score based similarity measures of Fermatean fuzzy sets and scout the uses of FFSs in pattern recognition. Based on different types of similarity measures a pattern recognition problem viz. personnel appointment is presented to describe the use of FFSs and its similarity measure as well as scores. The counterfeit results show that the proposed method is more malleable than the existing method(s). Finally, concluding remarks and the scope of future research of the proposed approach are given.
