Here, we report the draft genome of the filamentous cyanobacterium Desertifilum sp. strain IPPAS B-1220, isolated from Lake Shar-Nuur, Mongolia. The genome of 6.1 Mb codes for 5,113 genes. Genome mining revealed 10 clusters for the synthesis of bioactive compounds (nonribosomal peptides, polyketides, bacteriocins, and lantipeptides) with potential biotechnological or medical importance.

Here, we report the draft genome sequence of Aspergillus calidoustus (strain SF006504) . The functional annotation of A. calidoustus predicts a relatively large number of secondary metabolite gene clusters. The presented genome sequence builds the basis for further genome mining.

ABSTRACT The draft genome sequence of Pseudanabaena yagii GIHE-NHR1, a filamentous cyanobacterium, is reported here. Comparative genome analysis suggests that this strain can produce an odor-causing compound (2-methylisoborneol) in water. The genome information is expected to improve the understanding of the putative 2-methylisoborneol production by the bacterium.

We report here the draft genome sequence of the Flavobacterium sp. TAB 87 strain, isolated from Antarctic seawater during a summer campaign near the French Antarctic station Dumont d’Urville (60°40′S, 40°01′E). It will allow for comparative genomics and the fulfillment of both fundamental and application-oriented investigations. It allowed the recognition of genes associated with the production of bioactive compounds and antibiotic resistance.

Streptomyces spp. are prolific bacteria producing bioactive metabolites. We present the draft genome sequence of Streptomyces sp. strain C8S0, which was isolated from a highly oligotrophic sediment from the Cuatro Cienegas Basin (Mexico). The whole-genome assembly comprised 6,898,902 bp, with 18 biosynthetic gene clusters, including those for nonconventional terpenes, nonribosomal peptides, and polyketides.

We report here the draft genome sequence of the Pseudomonas sp. TAA207 and Pseudomonas sp. TAD18 strains, isolated from Antarctic sediments during a summer campaign near coastal areas of Terra Nova Bay (Antarctica). Genome sequence knowledge allowed the identification of genes associated with the production of bioactive compounds and antibiotic resistance. Furthermore, it will be instrumental for comparative genomics and the fulfillment of both basic and application-oriented investigations.

We announce here the draft genome sequence of Pseudomonas sp. strain EpS/L25, isolated from the stem/leaves of the medicinal plant Echinacea purpurea . This genome will allow for comparative genomics in order to identify genes associated with the production of bioactive compounds and antibiotic resistance.

Rivularia sp. strain IAM M-261 is a filamentous cyanobacterium with tapering morphology and basal-apical polarity. The apical filament of this cyanobacterium exhibits positive phototropism toward visible light. To elucidate the molecular basis for this phototropism, we determined the draft genome sequence of this strain.

Here, we report the draft genome sequence of strain NBRC 16556, deposited as Streptomyces hygroscopicus subsp. hygroscopicus into the NBRC culture collection. An average nucleotide identity analysis confirmed that the taxonomic identification is correct. The genome sequence will serve as a valuable reference for genome mining to search new secondary metabolites.
