ABSTRACT Herminiimonas contaminans was described as a new bacterial species, a contaminant isolated from a biopharmaceutical production process in Sweden. Since the genome sequence was not available, we performed draft genome sequencing. The genome of strain CCM 7991T (=CCUG 53591T = DSM 28178T = Marseille-Q4544T) was 4,038,814 bp long, with a G+C content of 53.9%; a total of 3,860 genes were identified, along with 3 rRNAs, 44 tRNAs, and 4 noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs).

ABSTRACT The highly halotolerant and allopolyploid yeast Zygosaccharomyces rouxii is industrially used for the food production in high concentrations of salt, such as brewing soy sauce and miso paste. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of Z. rouxii NBRC 1876 isolated from miso paste.

ABSTRACT In 2003, Streptomyces mexicanus was reported as a novel xylanolytic bacterial species isolated from soil; a partial genome sequence was determined. In 2019, a strain from the same species was isolated from a hand skin swab sample from a healthy French woman. Genome sequencing revealed an 8,011,832-bp sequence with a GC content of 72.5%.

ABSTRACT We report a draft genome sequence of extensively drug-resistant (XDR) Salmonella enterica serotype Typhi isolated from a returned traveler from Pakistan who developed sepsis. Whole-genome sequencing revealed relatedness to a previously reported outbreak in Pakistan and identified the blaCTX-M-15 and qnrS resistance genes.

ABSTRACT Here, we report the draft genome sequence of a Clostridium sp. strain isolated from a fecal sample of a 34-year-old adult male in Taiwan. This strain may represent a new bacterium, as suggested by a comparison based on whole-genome sequencing. The genome assembly comprised 6,089,737 bp, with a 45.63% G+C content.

ABSTRACT “Pandoraviridae” is a proposed family of the phylum Nucleocytoviricota. Its features include an amphora-shaped capsid and the largest genome among all viruses. We report the isolation and genome sequencing of a new member of this family, named Pandoravirus japonicus, the third strain discovered in Japan.

Here, we announce the draft genome sequence of Brevibacillus sp. strain LEMMJ03, isolated from Whalers Bay sediment (Deception Island, Antarctica). In total, 4,500 coding sequences (CDS), among those 102 coding for tRNAs and 5 for noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs), were predicted from the 4.64-Mb genome. Predicted functions were for bacteriocin and degradation of aromatic compounds.

ABSTRACT We report the draft genome sequence of Lactobacillus fermentum BFE 6620 from fermented cassava used as a potential starter culture for African vegetable fermentation. Sequence analysis showed the assembled genome size to be 1,982,893 bp, encoding a predicted total of 2,003 protein-coding genes, 14 rRNAs, 54 tRNAs, and 3 noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs).

Bacillus licheniformisis a Gram-positive biofilm- and endospore-forming bacterium, which contaminates dairy products and can be pathogenic to humans. The draft genome sequencing forB. licheniformisstrain S127 is reported here, providing genetic data relevant to the ability of this strain to sustain its survival in the dairy industry.

From garden soil, we isolated and sequenced Massilia sp. strain ONC3, a new member of the Oxalobacteraceae within the Massilia genus. Sequence analysis showed an assembled genome size of 5,622,601 bp, with a predicted total of 5,104 protein-coding sequences, 3,194 functionally assigned genes, 2 rRNA operons, and 56 tRNAs.
