BackgroundMore than 1,750 Nepalis leave the country daily for foreign employment. A total of 6 39 167 aspirant migrant workers left for various countries in last fiscal year 2016/17, up from418,713 in previous FY 2015/16. Most the migrant worker destination is hot humid climate countries for occupational work especially chemical, biological hazards.MethodsIt is the retrospective study among return migrant male 100 case reports with non-migrant control reports in (2016 Jan–2018 Nov.) years. Data of Semen analysis reports(questionnaire for duration of infertility, sperm count, percentage of normal sperm morphology, percentages of sperm ), BMI, mini mental health examination and family details data was collected. Descriptive statistics, analysis of variance, and correlations were conducted using SPSS 21.0 and Epi infoResultsMost of the return migrant workers who had long term (>1 years) exposed with solvents, biological or chemical occupation have less than the normal sperm counts than non-migrant cases. BMI was normal but the mental stress on return migrant workers having more than others. Clinical findings of less than 20 million/mL sperm concentration, progressive motility 32%, Odds ratios (ORs), after allowing for confounding, were 2.07 (95% confidence interval (95% CI) 1.24 to 3.44) for 1–3 years exposure to solvents and 3.83 (95% CI 1.37 to 10.65) for more than 3 years exposure. Chances of fertilization was at least 1–2 year among long term migrant return workers.ConclusionOccupational hazards in reproductive life is more seen among the mental stress workers. It may be due to improper use occupational safety clothes, equipment etc. Proper counselling, Workplace safety rules and regulation policy should be clearly documentation for all migrant workers. Occupation physician screen all workers health every 3 months. Education, awareness and changing attitude of work style is essential in this globalization era.

This study is to evaluate the effects of different occupational hazards on job stress and mental health of factory workers and miners. A total of 6120 workers from factories and mining enterprises in seven districts and one district of Urumqi were determined using the stratified cluster random sampling method. The Effort-Reward Imbalance (ERI) questionnaire and the Symptom Checklist-90 (SCL-90) were used to evaluate the effects of occupational hazard factors on job stress and mental health of workers. The propensity score analysis was used to control the confounding factors. The occupational hazards affecting job stress of workers were asbestos dust (OR=1.3, 95% CI: 1.09-1.55), benzene (OR=1.25, 95% CI: 1.10-1.41), and noise (OR=1.39, 95% CI: 1.22-1.59). The occupational hazards affecting the mental health of workers were coal dust (OR=1.19, 95% CI: 1.02-1.38), asbestos dust (OR=1.58, 95% CI: 1.32-1.92), benzene (OR=1.28, 95% CI: 1.13-1.47), and noise (OR=1.23, 95% CI: 1.07-1.42). Different occupational hazards have certain influence on job stress and mental health of factory workers and miners. The enhancements in occupational hazard and risk assessment, occupational health examination, and occupational protection should be taken to relieve job stress and enhance the mental health of factory workers and miners.

This article describes the development of a database for the cost of inpatient rehabilitation, mental health, and long-term care stays in the Department of Veterans Affairs from fiscal year 1998 forward. Using “bedsection,” which is analogous to a hospital ward, the authors categorize inpatient services into nine categories: rehabilitation, blind rehabilitation, spinal cord injury, psychiatry, substance abuse, intermediate medicine, domiciliary, psychosocial residential rehabilitation, and nursing home. For each of the nine categories, they estimated a national and a local (i.e., medical center) average per diem cost. The nursing home average per diem costs were adjusted for case mix using patient assessment information. Encounter-level costs were then calculated by multiplying the aver-age per diem cost by the number of days of stay in the fiscal year. The national cost estimates are more reliable than the local cost estimates.

Within modern biotechnology, different tools have been developed to maximize canine semen conservation protocol to optimizing reproductive results and making their handling more flexible. In the last decades, the survival of refrigerated semen has been prolonged from 2-3d with the first basic diluents, to 10-14d using the most modern extenders. Semen activators ( SA ) have been produced to provide the molecules necessary to maximize the sperm survival and quality with the aim to enhance fertility and prolificacy. In this study, the effect of SA was recorded by daily evaluation of  chilled semen 14d. For this experiment, Six adult healthy  Neapolitan Mastiff dogs, were used as donors semen  was manually collected. Spermatozoa-rich fractions  of each subject was chilled using a new generation extender for long periods of time   (d0) s tarting from the d1   to d1 4, different aliquot, with (experimental trial)   and without SA (control trial), were  evaluated daily for motility vigor, morphology and membrane integrity. The initial sperm concentration of extended semen was 417. 3±170 . 4x10 6 /mL (mean ± SEM) with 85.89±4.76% of MNS (morphologically normal sperm), 84.47±5.22 % vital sperm and a pH of 6.2±2.8. The initial vigor was 3.83±0.48, but after one min with SA , it rose to 4.45 ± 0.45 (P<0.001). The semen motility parameter increase significantly (P < 0.05) in experimental trial , respect to control,  starting to d 2 at finish ( except for d 7). The vigor analysis significantly increase in experimental trial (P < 0.05) during the most day of the study with the exclusion of d 3 and d 14. For evaluate the semen characteristics over time, the experiment was divided into T1 (d0-d5), T2 (d6- d 10) and T3 (d11-d14) (P<0.001) in evaluation of morphology and membrane stability. The MNS reached 70% at d10 and finally 65% at −d14, being considered normal and possibly fertile. With Host-s, 65% of MNS were also achieved at d14. The presence of glucose and fructose in the diluents used for refrigeration can exert very important effects given the fact that metabolic routes have been found in both sugars, providing both different and complementing effects. It can be concluded that the use of SA prior to artificial insemination improves the quality of chilled semen significantly, although it does not reverse the effects of deterioration due to cellular metabolism over time.

AbstractNeurobiology-based interventions for mental diseases and searches for useful biomarkers of treatment response have largely failed. Clinical trials should assess interventions related to environmental and social stressors, with long-term follow-up; social rather than biological endpoints; personalized outcomes; and suitable cluster, adaptive, and n-of-1 designs. Labor, education, financial, and other social/political decisions should be evaluated for their impacts on mental disease.

Abstract. The last several decades have witnessed a substantial increase in the number of individuals suffering from both diagnosable and subsyndromal mental health problems. Consequently, the development of cost-effective treatment methods, accessible to large populations suffering from different forms of mental health problems, became imperative. A very promising intervention is the method of expressive writing (EW), which may be used in both clinically diagnosable cases and subthreshold symptomatology. This method, in which people express their feelings and thoughts related to stressful situations in writing, has been found to improve participants’ long-term psychological, physiological, behavioral, and social functioning. Based on a thorough analysis and synthesis of the published literature (also including most recent meta-analyses), the present paper presents the expressive writing method, its short- and long-term, intra-and interpersonal effects, different situations and conditions in which it has been proven to be effective, the most important mechanisms implied in the process of recovery, advantages, disadvantages, and possible pitfalls of the method, as well as variants of the original technique and future research directions.
