RESONANCES AND CONTINUUMS IN THE THREE-BODY BREAKUP OF HALO NUCLEI WITH THE COMPLEX SCALING METHOD

We investigate the three-body Coulomb breakup reaction of two-neutron halo nuclei 11 Li , where we adopt the extended three-body model of 11 Li with paying attention to the pairing correlation of the nuclei, and also employ the complex scaling method (CSM) to solve the three-body unbound states of 11 Li . From the results, we cannot find any dipole resonances, at least, having small decay widths. This means that the breakup strength is exhausted by the continuum states. We compare the obtained strength showing the low energy enhancement to the several experimental data.

The 3α resonant states of 12 C are investigated by taking into account the correct boundary condition for three-body resonant states. In order to show how the 3α resonant states having complex eigenvalues contribute to the real energy, we calculated the Continuum Level Density in the Complex Scaling Method.

We present our recent results of the mirror nuclei 5He and 5Li obtained by analyzing structure of continuum states in the complex scaled α + N two-body model. Decomposed scattering cross section and continuum level density of α + N system are discussed.

A new method to describe the three-body decaying states is developed. In this method, the Lippmann–Schwinger equation is combined with the complex scaling method to take the correct boundary condition into account. For the application, the E1 transition strength of 6 He is investigated. The energy and Dalitz distributions of the E1 transition are calculated, and the internal correlation of 6 He is discussed. As results, it is found that the 6 He → 5 He (3/2-)+n → 4 He +n+n sequential decay process is dominant in the E1 transition reaction of 6 He .

The resonances and continuum states of He isotopes are investigated using the cluster orbital shell model with the complex scaling method. We discuss the following subjects; 1) spectroscopic factors of 7 He into the 6 He -n components, and 2) five-body 0+ resonance of 8 He and its structure from the viewpoint of the neutron-pair coupling.

We present analyses of breakup effects of 6 He on the elastic scattering by the continuum-discretized coupled-channels method, in which the reaction system is described as a four-body model, n+n+4 He +target. In this analysis, three-body breakup continuum of 6 He is discretized by daiagonalizing the internal Hamiltonian of 6 He in a space spanned by the Gaussian basis functions. The calculated elastic cross sections are in good agreement with the experimental data, which shows that nuclear and Coulomb breakup effects are significant.

In this contribution we discuss electro-weak induced transitions involving 4 He . The wave function of the ground state is obtained accurately using an explicitly correlated basis with a realistic nuclear interaction. Four-body final states are expressed in a superposition of many basis functions which contain important configurations for the low-lying transition strength. Resonant and continuum states are treated properly in the complex scaling method. The discussion is mainly focused on the electric dipole strength. Also, we mention those transitions induced by the weak interactions which are important for a neutrino-nucleus reaction.
