Recently Hod proposed a lower bound on the relaxation time of a perturbed thermodynamic system. For gravitational systems this bound transforms into a condition on the fundamental quasinormal frequency. We test the bound in some space–times whose quasinormal frequencies are calculated exactly, as the three-dimensional BTZ black hole, the D-dimensional de Sitter space–time, and the D-dimensional Nariai space–time. We find that for some of these space–times their fundamental quasinormal frequencies do not satisfy the bound proposed by Hod.

Utilizing the conformal-flatness nature of three-dimensional Anti-de Sitter ( AdS 3) black hole solution of Banados, Teitelboim and Zanelli, the quantization of conformally-coupled scalar and spinor fields in this background space–time is explicitly carried out. In particular, mode expansion forms and propagators of the fields are obtained in closed forms. The vacuum in this conformally-coupled field theories in AdS 3 black hole space–time, which is conformally-flat, is the conformal vacuum which is unique and has global meaning. This point particularly suggests that now the particle production by AdS 3 black hole space–time should be absent. General argument establishing the absence of real particle creation by AdS 3 black hole space–time for this case of conformal triviality is provided. Then next, using the explicit mode expansion forms for conformally-coupled scalar and spinor fields, the bosonic and fermionic superradiances are examined and found to be absent confirming the expectation.

Strings in the three-dimensional anti-de Sitter space in the NS background is described by the SL(2, R) WZW model. We present a complete description of the Hilbert space of the model. We then compute the one-loop partition function for Euclidean BTZ black hole backgrounds or equivalently thermal AdS3 backgrounds which are quotients of Euclidean AdS3. We see long strings and discrete states in agreement with the structure of the Hilbert space.

A conformal field theory on the boundary of three-dimensional asymptotic anti-de Sitter spaces which appear as near horizon geometry of D-brane bound states is discussed. It is shown that partition functions of gravitational instantons appear as high and low temperature limits of the partition function of the conformal field theory. The result reproduces phase transition between the anti-de Sitter space and the BTZ black hole in the bulk gravity.

Using modular bootstrap we show the lightest primary fields of a unitary compact two-dimensional conformal field theory (with [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text]) has a conformal weight [Formula: see text]. This implies that the upper bound on the dimension of the lightest primary fields depends on their spin. In particular if the set of lightest primary fields includes extremal or near extremal states whose spin to dimension ratio [Formula: see text], the corresponding dimension is [Formula: see text]. From AdS/CFT correspondence, we obtain an upper bound on the spectrum of black hole in three-dimensional gravity. Our results show that if the first primary fields have large spin, the corresponding three-dimensional gravity has extremal or near extremal BTZ black hole.

The quantum tunneling radiation of fermions with arbitrary spin at the event horizon of Kerr-de Sitter black hole is accurately modified by using the dispersion relation proposed in the study of string theory and quantum gravitational theory. The derived tunneling rate and temperature at the black hole horizons are analyzed and studied.

At the last time the concept of the curved space-time as the some medium with stress tensor σαβon the right part of Einstein equation is extensively studied in the frame of the Sakharov - Wheeler metric elasticity(Sakharov (1967), Wheeler (1970)). The physical cosmology pre- dicts a different phase transitions (Linde (1990), Guth (1991)). In the frame of Relativistic Theory of Finite Deformations (RTFD) (Gusev (1986)) the transition from the initial stateof the Universe (Minkowskian's vacuum, quasi-vacuum(Gliner (1965), Zel'dovich (1968)) to the final stateof the Universe(Friedmann space, de Sitter space) has the form of phase transition(Gusev (1989) which is connected with different space-time symmetry of the initial and final states of Universe(from the point of view of isometric groupGnof space). In the RTFD (Gusev (1983), Gusev (1989)) the space-time is described by deformation tensorof the three-dimensional surfaces, and the Einstein's equations are viewed as the constitutive relations between the deformations ∊αβand stresses σαβ. The vacuum state of Universe have the visible zero physical characteristics and one is unsteady relatively quantum and topological deformations (Gunzig & Nardone (1989), Guth (1991)). Deformations of vacuum state, identifying with empty Mikowskian's space are described the deformations tensor ∊αβ, wherethe metrical tensor of deformation state of 3-geometry on the hypersurface, which is ortogonaled to the four-velocityis the 3 -geometry of initial state,is a projection tensor.
