New radiocarbon dates on wood from two exposures in Chilliwack valley, southwestern British Columbia, indicate that this area was ice free and locally forested 16 000 radiocarbon years ago. This suggests that the Late Wisconsinan Cordilleran Ice Sheet reached its maximum extent in this region after 16 000 years BP. The Chilliwack valley dates are the youngest in British Columbia that bear on the growth of the Cordilleran Ice Sheet.

As these days there is a lot of effect because of environmental pollution and other factors like work pressure human health problems are increasing to a maximum extent. Technology takes a major role in monitoring the health of a individual. This helps to have a copy of recorded values and this helps in taking immediate steps to cure the condition or a precautions needed. As it important to monitor some parameters of the patient we use some sensors. The bluetooth module helps in collecting data from the sensors and sends it to the mobile through Bluetooth and this data can be uploaded to the cloud using Mobile data. This gives perfect data for the doctors to take a decision and give a suggestion to the patient.

Introduction: In rectal cancer, distal intramural spread may sometimes occur, but a maximum extent of distal spread of > 6 cm is very rare. Case Presentation: A 65-year-old Japanese male with an advanced rectal cancer tumor with para-aortic lymph node metastasis was admitted. We performed a low anterior resection with lymphadenectomy, but the intraoperative frozen-section analysis of margins revealed malignant cell positivity; we, therefore, performed an abdominoperineal resection. Pathological findings showed that the maximum extent of distal spread was 6 cm. After 12 courses of FOLFOX4 as adjuvant chemotherapy, abdominal computed tomography revealed whole lymph node metastases, including Virchow’s node. Though FOLFIRI + panitumumab was started, he was not eligible for additional chemotherapy after 10 cycles. Conclusion: An intraoperative frozen pathology examination was helpful for the additional resection, when unexpected distal spreading had occurred in rectal cancer. The evidence of a distal negative margin should not be underestimated.

Recently it has been reported that, in addition to binding to glycoprotein (GP) lb, vWF also interacts with GPIIb/IIIa, although the physiological relevance of this interaction is not completeley clear. In this paper, we have investigated the role of different size of vWF multimers in vWF-mediated platelet aggregation. Different size of vWF multimers were purified from human plasma through Sephacryl S-1000 column according to the method of Fowler et al. Fractions were analysed by SDS-agarose gel electrophoresis by the method of Ruggeri et al. When each fraction was examined for ristocetin cofactor activity (RCo), only larger multimers exhibited significant RCo. The maximum extent of ristocetin-induced platelet agglutination by larger multimers (10 μg/ml) was 80%, while that of intermediate and lower multimers at the same concentration was 20% and 0%, respectively. Each fraction was then added to washed platelet suspensions in the presence of 10 μM ADP and 0.3 mM CaCl2. Only larger multimers induced platelet aggregation, while intermediate and lower multimers failed to induce platelet aggregation. The maximum extent of aggregation in the presence of larger multimers (10 μg/ml) was 70% of that in the presence of fibrinogen instead. Similar experiments were peformed using platelet-rich plasma from a patient with afibrinogenemia in stead of washed normal platelets. ADP caused significant aggregation only when purified vWF larger multimers or fibrinogen was added. This vWF-mediated aggregation was completely inhibited by monoclonal antibody to GPIIb/IIIa (1 μg/ml) and synthetic peptide, Arg-Gly-Asp-Ser, (1 mM).Our results indicate that larger multimers of vWF play major roles in vWF interaction with GPIIb/IIIa.
