Aiming at time-consuming and ineffective problem of image window division in fabric defect detection, this paper proposes a new adaptive division method after a large number of experiments. This method can quickly and exactly recognize defect feature. Firstly, a division model on adaptive window is established, secondly, the formula to anticipate generally situation of fabric image is given according to the peaks and valleys change in the model, and methods to calculate the division size and position of adaptive window are given. Finally, we conclude that the algorithm in this paper can quickly and simply select the size and position of window division according to actual situation of different fabric images, and the time of image analysis is shortened and the recognition efficiency is improved.

We introduce a real-time machine vision system we developed with the aim of detecting defects in functional textile fabrics with good precision at relatively fast detection speeds to assist in textile industry quality control. The system consists of image acquisition hardware and image processing software. The software we developed uses data preprocessing techniques to break down raw images to smaller suitable sizes. Filtering is employed to denoise and enhance some features. To generalize and multiply the data to create robustness, we use data augmentation, which is followed by labeling where the defects in the images are labeled and tagged. Lastly, we utilize YOLOv4 for localization where the system is trained with weights of a pretrained model. Our software is deployed with the hardware that we designed to implement the detection system. The designed system shows strong performance in defect detection with precision of [Formula: see text], and recall and [Formula: see text] scores of [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text], respectively. The detection speed is relatively fast at [Formula: see text] fps with a prediction speed of [Formula: see text] ms. Our system can automatically locate functional textile fabric defects with high confidence in real time.

As defect detection using machine vision is diversifying and expanding, approaches using deep learning are increasing. Recently, there have been much research for detecting and classifying defects using image segmentation, image detection, and image classification. These methods are effective but require a large number of actual defect data. However, it is very difficult to get a large amount of actual defect data in industrial areas. To overcome this problem, we propose a method for defect detection using stacked convolutional autoencoders. The autoencoders we proposed are trained by using only non-defect data and synthetic defect data generated by using the characteristics of defect based on the knowledge of the experts. A key advantage of our approach is that actual defect data is not required, and we verified that the performance is comparable to the systems trained using real defect data.

In the paper, it is proposed to develop a machine learning based intelligent defect detection system for metal products. The common machine vision system has the surface (stain, shallow pit, shallow tumor, scratches, Edge defects, pattern defects) detection, or for the processing of the size, diameter, diameter, eccentricity, height, thickness and other parts of the non-contact numerical parameters of detection. Considering the quality of the work piece and the defects of the standard, so for the quality of customized testing requirements, the study is the development of machine vision and machine learning metal products defect detection system, mainly composed of three procedures: Image preprocessing, training procedures and testing procedures. The system architecture consists of three parts: (1) Image preprocessing: we first use the machine vision. OPENCV to carry out the image pre-processing part of the product before the detection. (2) Training procedures: The algorithm of the machine learning includes the convolution neural network (CNN), chunk-max pooling is used to train the program, and the generative adversarial network (GAN) based architecture is used to solve the problem of small datasets for surface defects. (3) Testing procedures:The Python language is used to write the program and implement the testing procedures with the GPU-Based embedded hardware In industries, collecting training dataset is usually costly and related methods are highly dataset-dependent. So most companies cannot provide Big-data to be analyzed or applied. By the experimental results, the recognition accuracy can be obviously improved as increasing data augmentation by GAN-Based samples maker. Manual inspection is labor intensive, costly and less in efficiency. Therefore, this study will contribute to technological innovation, industry, national development and other applications. (1) The use of intelligent machine learning technology will make the industry 4.0 technology more sophisticated. (2) It will make the development of equipment industry be better by the machine learning applications. (3) It will increase the economics and productivity of countries for the aging of the population by machine learning.
