A wearable smart locator band is an electronic device which can be worn on the wrist of the children to monitor and keep an eye on them. As the number of mishaps with children is increasing, it is a must to keep them safe. This also helps reducing crime rates. The research study proposed the development of a wearable smart locator band that helps keeping track of kids. The developed device includes an AVR microcontroller (ATmega8515), global positioning system (GPS), global system for mobile (GSM), and switching unit and the monitoring unit includes Android mobile device in parent’s hand with web based Android application as well as location indicated on a Google Map. This development is very useful for senior people and individuals suffering from memory diseases. This device, hence, behaves as a communication interface between wearer and caregiver.

With the maturity of GPS technology and the decrease of GPS module cost, which is becoming more and more widely. This paper designed the SCT90C516 micro-computer as the control core of GPS positioning system, Consisted by GPS module, independent keys and LCD display, serial communication interface and on STC micro-computer modules. Aiming at tracking the objective in the outdoor environment. And it can be used in smart clothes, vehicle positioning and tracking to protect wild animals.

The fashion of sustaining faculty attendance each day is one significant fundamental task in all institutions. The likelihood of having a fallacy, being tampered amidst for parsimonious reasons transpires further great while handling mythical ways of managing attendance. That embeds the institution at the hazard, comprising abrupt efficient, furthermore even restricting the individual interruption in data. Besides, using a biometric mechanism engrosses more extended time plus subsistence of the design is too unusual. To complete with this wearisome process, we purpose to design a Web-based application that includes locating GPS coordinates also facial id based upon front-facing cameras concerning registering the attendance of the student which performs the method simple plus more productive. Google GPS API and camera API that exists in this application to permit the application increased flawless. The user’s attendance is verified based upon the GPS location and camera API. Also, the permission is done with facial ID via face recognition. This system necessity is sensitive to the campus location, i.e., except authorized admin, that should not operate in areas outside the institution plant. A database is used to hold track of all the user’s attendance data. The application is a user-friendly UI in which the admin can analyze the detailed reports of all the users. A monthly report of a user can be downloaded by them during the next day’s entry of their attendance. The application is capable of generating daily, monthly and yearly reports of all users. That, we intend to create alternative attendance system for organizations.

This article explores the militarization of everyday life through the emergence of a dual-use technology, the Global Positioning System (GPS), in the 1990s and first decade of the twenty-first century. It was launched in April 2010 as a Web-based multimedia piece funded by a Digital Innovation Fellowship from the American Council of Learned Societies. During the fellowship year and for several years afterward, author Caren Kaplan worked with programmer/designer Erik Loyer to produce a piece that would address the multiple social and political valences of GPS in a graphically dramatic but academically substantial manner. Ezra Claytan Daniels provided the artwork that illustrates Erik Loyer’s innovative digital “cube” design.

Visually Impaired (VI) people generally face difficulties during their pedestrian commute, when forced on to side-walks cluttered with vendors, animals and other obstacles. No single system can comprehensively cover all of their mobility needs. The proposed system intends to provide smart electronic aid for the VI which is appropriate to complement their white cane using the principles of the IoT. It detects any low-lying obstacles on its course and alerts the user to them and also uses Global Positioning System (GPS) technology which is a component of any smart phone, to pinpoint the VI's location when necessary. A feedback system, which is essentially a simple auditory circuit, which alarms the user of any obstacle, and informs priory designated guardians about the VI's current whereabouts, done by transmitting the coordinates of VI to a registered mobile number fed into an Android Application.

This paper examines the distribution of hospitality services in Uyo Urban, Nigeria. GIS method was the primary tool used for data collection. A global positioning system (GPS) Garmin 60 model was used in tracking the location of 102 hospitality services in the study area. One hypothesis was stated and tested using the nearest neighbour analysis. The finding shows evidence of clustering of the various hospitality services. The tested hypothesis further indicated that hospitality services clustered in areas that guarantee a sustainable level of patronage to maximize profit. Thus, the hospitality services clustered in selected streets in the metropolis while limited numbers were found outside the city’s central area.
